that was so strange; it looked like Cian was pouring it on with 500 meters to go, and then all of a sudden Lecerf, who had been caught by a small group re surges and catches him at the line. Did Cian stay on that big gear too long, or was his team not communicating....so baffling. Anyway congrats to Junior, he's becoming a nice little climber
 
Tough luck for Cian today- it looked like he just hit the wall at the wrong time- had to race the way he did to get the gap but guess he was in the red too long and paid in the end. Still a promising set of results with San Sebastian' l'Ain and Czech Tour.

Longer term I suspect he lacks the top end acceleration to be an elite GT rider as looks more diesel (his ability to ride people off wheels is impressive) but still looks good enough to be a very useful tool in a mountain train for Jonas in the GTs.

They commented that he was in the big chainring(?) It was like his legs turned to cement in the final few meters.. He was flying until he wasn't.. Like struck by lightning!!
