Nothing to do with it. Take QS out of it and you would have the same thing happening. As if anyone in the peloton is scared of Mauri Vansevenant. Just not enough firepower behind anymore, not enough doms. Probably going to go up till a minute before there's some riders coming back to put at the front.

If there were a lot of corners, he’d win because he gains most of his time in the corners. He’s a great bike handler (uphill crashes aside).

He is overrated as a classics rider. Not as a GT rider.
