It's called the "Josh Allen" effect. Allar is 6'5" 235 lbs - same as Allen with a cannon arm & excellent mobility/athleticism.

I saw him play some last season but none this year. He was bad in last year's Ohio St game but played much better in the Big 10 title game vs Oregon.

Josh Allen wasn't very good at Wyoming (Wyoming plays in the MWC - a 2nd Tier conference). Allen threw a lot of picks & had major accuracy issues. Because of his size, cannon arm & athleticism, he couldn't be overlooked & was drafted #7 OA. He was considered a "boom or bust" prospect.

How far Allar falls in the draft is anyone's guess. A lot will depend on the surgery & recovery process. It's a dislocated/fractured ankle. You can see the injury here where the tackler rolled on his lower leg which looks like it was bent in an awkward position:

In decades of watching CU football, I've never seen anything like this. 43-0 at the half. 398 yds of total O for Utah, -18 total yds for CU. Utah started a true freshman QB for the first time. Final score 53-7 with Utah playing reserves most of the 2nd half.

The 46-point loss marks the worst defeat of the Dion Sanders coaching era & is comparable to some of the program's most lopsided losses in it's 135-year history.

It looked like the players quit out there - major setback in the program.

This is somewhat of a surprise. 34-14 in his 4 seasons at LSU (5-3 this season before the firing). Held a preseason top-5 ranking but unranked at the time of firing. All winning seasons & bowl game appearances but no playoffs. Kelly coached Jayden Daniels for the two seasons he was there.

I guess the bottom line here is that LSU recruits very well & expects to be a top-10 program every year.

Oh boy. What an end of season meltdown over playoff spots. The problem with 2nd tier bowl games is no draft eligible players or players with NIL ambitions are playing in those games.

EEEK! BSU stunk up that game!
If someone runs for President from Idaho, they get my vote regardless of record or experience.
If I am on a jury trial and defendant has overwhelming evidence to their guilt, if they are from Idaho, my vote will be innocent. I route for Boise regardless, silly surface aside, I am all Idaho all the time because that great state, awesome residents allowed Evil Knievel to jump the Snake River Canyon in 1974..that's enough for me..Go Broncos, put Huskies in a kennel next time.
Washington and Oregon should combine as a single state and be called Not Idaho..

You need the current view with the cranes building the stadium upgrades. Maybe in this video:

In San Diego a series of events created something a bit strange, but explainable. Chargers owners threatened the community, build us a new stadium, using mostly bond money, football team was risking little to nothing.
Public said no, didn't want tax increases and more government debt. Team moved. The stadium became even more of a white elephant because Padres play in Gucci ballpark downtown, Petco Park, a really good place to watch baseball.

Some billionaires started talking about repurposing the old Chargers home.
All the while, the public who was in need of a football fix migrated to become San Diego State University Aztec fans. It was the obvious choice, team enjoyed rebirth in popularity.
The billionaires got their wish, with the university, they tore down Jack Murphy, Qualcomm stadium and built a new smaller stadium to be used for college football and soccer team.. not many concerts, no monster trucks, supercross or rodeo.
The new stadium is up, it's got a few design flaws that are dangerous, potentially deadly.
Like your Boise stadium, Snap Dragon Stadium, that's the current sponsor, doesn't have much, any sun protection, No overhang of any kind. In direct sunlight, sitting in the average seat temps are regularly in the mid 80s and as Southern California goes, with spring, summer, fall sunshine temperatures regularly get over 100+..fans get exposed like bacon and many either complain of exposure symptoms and a few dozen per event, pass out, semi faint..Need EMTs
I have been to a couple events but because I cooled my core with gallons of cold beer and my skin is already bicycle bacon from riding with no sunscreen, I am semi immune.
If I do feel some high heat condition coming on I take emergency action and go to nearest vendor and get some kind of brew for my internal radiator.
My medical advice is not for everyone..People in Idaho likely use some of my proven remedies to stay cool.
So instead of the common Terrible Towel seen in Pittsburgh, San Diego stadium is going to have to issue an umbrella or big sombrero to protect fans from getting fried.

I no longer have ESPN, but I'll sign up for a free trial with Fubo just so I can catch the Orange Bowl today. Any predictions on that game?

I live in Eugene and I heard the noise coming from Autzen all the way at my house while the Ducks were handily beating James Madison recently, being I'm not the biggest Duck fan I'm hoping Texas Tech will be much more of a challenge for Oregon! (I'm sure it will be. :))

Second quarter and so far the game has been pretty defensive with Oregon in the lead with 3-0...

I hate those gray, away Oregon unis btw., they look pretty drab for an occasion such as the Orange Bowl.

I think Oregon will win & move on to the next round of the playoffs. The QB for Oregon, Dante Moore, is supposed to be a top draft pick if he decides to declare for the draft. Btw, Texas Tech is where Mahomes played his college ball at. Like the Oregon helmet design with the wings & big "O" on the back.

Think I was expecting a more high scoring game, but so far neither team's offense has been impressive. We'll see if Texas Tech can produce some kind of points in the second half, otherwise Oregon just needs to hang on with their measly 6 points.

Will you be watching the Rose Bowl after? I'm weirded out by the fact Bama and Indiana are in it, isn't Indiana more of a basketball school?

I'll definitely watch the Rose Bowl - I want to see Bama get beat. Lol

You're absolutely right, Indiana is a basketball powerhouse school having won 5 National championships & a ton of Big 10 titles. The football program has always been 2nd fiddle to the basketball team & historically never that competitive (no championships & the last time the team won a Big 10 title was 1967).

This all changed when Curt Cignetti took over the program in 2024 & they became instant winners (he previously coached at James Madison). This is the first time the football team has gone undefeated & their first Big 10 title since 67.

The Hoosiers are led by Fernando Mendoza, the top NFL draft pick & this year's Heisman winner. He's really good & a nice kid that carries himself well.

I haven't been following football for a while, what happened to Bama? Not so good since Saban retired?

I can't watch the Orange Bowl anymore, Texas Tech's offense is too sorry a sight. Was hoping for a better game. :(

Texas Tech must have stayed out too late last night. Lol. Oregon moves on to the semi-final (Peach Bowl) playing the winner of the Bama-Indiana game.

Bama has definitely taken a step back with Kalen DeBoer replacing Saban. They missed the playoffs last year & were lucky to get in this year with 3 losses including losing to Georgia badly in the SEC championship game.

Who will Miami be playing next? I'm out of the loop as to how the playoffs work these days...

Daaaaang, never in my younger years would I have imagined Bama getting pummeled by (basketball school) Indiana! How times change.

Georgia v. Ole Miss is up next, hopefully this won't be a blowout. (Not that I will watch, I'm pooped out from all this football watching.)

Miami will be playing the winner of the Ole Miss-Georgia game in the Sugar Bowl tonight.

Indiana demolishes Alabama 38-3 (worse ever bowl defeat for Alabama). Oregon now plays Indiana in the semifinal which is a rematch of their regular season game won by Indiana.
