It was more the picking on Colnago as the "Golf club replacement" for all those executives, when in reality any of the high-end, well-known brands fit into that bracket. It's probably more location dependent too, when I was in London I saw loads of Dogmas being ridden around at 12-15 kph.

But more power to them, if they have the cash, want that bike for whatever reason and it gets them out cycling I'm all for it. Like with my other hobby (guitars), I think some of the prices paid for electrics are insane but if they have the cash and want to do it then more power to them.

I'm not a weight weenie at all! Give me a 853 frame (or equivalent Columbus tubing) possibly a carbon fork but preferably steel and high spoke count wheels. If it's too heavy then I'm too weak :D

Nice one...I am worried about my weakness, for me " the steel would kill"

I just made that quote up. many thanks :D

This just got printed up, laminated with clear packing tape, and stuck onto the wall in between the uprights of my homemade squat rack and bar set up. thanks!

Colnago V1-R

I had told you guys a while back that I was building a V1-R as well. I just got it completed. I haven't ridden it much yet, but it feels much like the C60 so far, perhaps a little more "buzzy". Let the Shimano and Ferrari logo bashing begin :)

Beautiful bike. And anyone who bashes Dura-ace is silly.

I don't mind the Ferrari decal or the Shimano.I don't like so much steerer above the stem though and the ENVE decals are a bit OTT for my taste.Would love to go for a spin on it.Enjoy.

Yeah the steerer is still too long, I'm just riding it long enough to be sure I have the drop where I want it, then it will be shortened :) The wheels are actually from my Cervelo... the white labels are subject to change as well.

The ENVE logo needs bashing, way OTT on those deep sections, IMO of course. Enjoy.

....something interesting in the new Colnago catalog was brought to my attention by a friend looking to buy a new C60....see bottom of geometry chart linked below...

http://colnago.com/geometry-c60-2-2/?lang=am

...does anyone have any idea what the frames that are referred to as High look like....as in, did they just extend the Head tube or did they also change the angle of the top tube to a steeper rake ( which my friend worries would make these frames look "dorky like one of those Giant cartoon bikes"...apparently the sloping Colnagos up to this point had kept the slope reasonably subtle which in some eyes was the preferred aesthetic...)...

Cheers

From the geometry numbers it does look like the stack height is the difference so I am guessing your guess it correct. the head tube is taller. As for the aesthetic, either you get a taller head tube or flip your stem and add spacers to get the correct saddle to bar drop. either way it is just as dorky if that is his judgement. the geometry numbers suggest the same angles so I would assume the main difference is height above the top tube.
I did see fewer sizes available too and many frames are now available in 2 CM increments rather than 1CM. More sloping sizes.

the answer is taller head tubes is the big difference;

Hs - Height head tube
