Biciciclismo says that Duarte will not go to a other team, but will stay with Colombia.

Colombia would be better of with Atapuma or Chaves though, because Duarte isn't going to make the progression he has too.

duarte can make the progression, but not in coldeportes. also I think report is 100% bs. duarte and corti haven't even talked to eahc other since giro I heard

Duarte has had some problems again this year (dont know what exactly). They still have a lot of faith in him and they should, cause he is a class act. I was hoping for a new team for him though.

Edward Beltran is not progressing anymore, he was very young when he did good in the baby giro so thats maybe why he wasnt signed yet, or maybe he didnt want to go to europe at that time.

edward beltran is progressing inmensely. just look up his results. only ashame he's put in epm-une order of being helper to sevilla in every race.

Atapuma stated that they all have been payed up until July, but just recently.
They are still owed August

I'm surprised they are even continuing next year and that Duarte has re-upped.

Jeffry Romero

Miguel Rubiano doesn't have a contract with Androni for 2014 (i think), he will be a spectaculair rider for Colombia.

Spectacular might be too high. At their best, climbing wise he is behind Duarte easily ( and behind Atapuma who's leaving ).

But it would be a very good signing indeed.

So Juan Pablo Suárez, Wilson Marentes, Dalivier Ospina and Michael Rodríguez out of the team, very disappointing season for these riders, very bad shape and few races...

In general, all season of Colombia-Coldeportes was very disappointing...only 2 wins, and few good positions.

In this season only Atapuma was very good in some races.
Duque was also good, but riding races not suited for him...more presense in one-day races in France would be better for him.
Ávila good surprise in some races, he can be better next season.
Duarte only in Galibier, Tre Cime and some other stage (3 stages of the Giro, rest of the season awful).
Carlos Quintero good attitude, but he's not a super-class.
Chalapud good attitude in the Giro, Burgos or Colorado.
Pantano good attitude but I hoped much more from him.
Romero good level in june and july.
Valencia good in late season, but he's not a super-class.
Arango good attitude until broken collarbone, and maybe he could be better next year.
Duber Quintero good attitude but no level, Alexis Camacho: very young but no level.

Marentes all Giro at the back, Suárez very very far from EPM days, Dalivier Ospina dissapearing, and Michael Rodríguez only first stage of Trentino.

But the worst of the team is Corti, a disaster as manager: races not suited for the riders, pre-season without riding because of the snow and low temperatures, no preparation, and so on

I hope to see next year some good riders from Colombia such as Hernando Bohórquez, Salvador Moreno, Edwar Beltrán, Camilo Gómez, Javier Gómez, Álex Cano, Jahír Pérez, Daniel Rozo, Julián Rodas, Jonathan Paredes, Ramiro Rincón, Danny Osorio, Darwin Pantoja, Cristian Montoya, Freddy Montaña, Ronald Gómez, Éver Rivera, Einer Parra, Juan Chamorro, Diego Ochoa, César Paredes, Edson Calderón,...

Then we'll see if they are good (as Atapuma, Quintana, Chaves,...) or not adapted (Suárez, Ospina,...)

I wonder if it's possible for them to sign riders like Chamorro, Parra, Rivera, Largo etc. 3/4 of their squad are second rate climbers/riders (with all kinds of respect for the likes of Duber Quinteiro)

I really like Chalapud and Pantano though, giving their maximum each race with a attacking style.

I know he has won a stage at the Vuelta a Juventud, in a field containing Sebastian Henao and Daniel Jaramillo. That's a impressive result for a 19 year old guy.

And according to the site of Colombia, he is one of the biggest talents of Colombia, but yeah, that's why it is the website of Colombia;)

He's ****ing amazing. One of the most talented riders ever. Already last year he was one of the best climbers in Colombia, so he shouldn't have a problem in Europe were the climbs are a lot easier.

His watts per kilo is also amazing. He did 8 in a test a few years ago but it was his first time so I think within the next few years he can challenge Rujano's record of 14.

Rafael Nino said he though Diaz was one of the top 10 riders from his age group to come out of Pueblo Pequeno; Boyaca.

I predict he is going to have a season like Quintana this year.
Perhaps even better.

Edward Fabian Diaz Cardenas.

I wonder if he is related to you know who. Both come from Boyaca. But could be a coincidence.

In Colombia as in most Spanish American countries, surnames are about as helpful in pointing to the direction of one's kin, as first names.

Especially within regions which is why for example Rigoberto has 2 unrelated parents with the same surname.

There are probably 10 million people in Latin America who have "Rodriguez" at some point in their name. Cardenas a bit less, but even within Boyaca its going to be substantial

I was wondering if Michael Rodriguez Galindo has retired? Haven't heard anything of him since he's gone with Colombia.

Ryo perhaps?
