I could be underestimating Valverde. I see him a really good rider who probably can't win the tour.
When did he beat Lance?
Good showing by Iglinsky but I still don't see him as key as Vino in July.

You are. He can (he just won the Vuelta which was a hard course than the 2009 Tour). In January. Maybe, it's a long time between now and July. Vino may not be able to regain the form he once had.

Stage 17
Hi, everybody – Today would’ve been a day to be happy about the situation in the general, but I feel like **** since my teammate Klöden slipped off the back of the leading group after pulling. I talked to him earlier about attacking, and he gave me the OK. I did, the Schleck brothers responded, but Andreas couldn’t. When I saw it, I stopped, but he wasn’t able to get back. Apart from that, we improved the situation in the general with this stage, and physically, I’m feeling good. One less day!!

I'll take his word for it.

That's mighty gracious of you. Accepting reality is a positive step for you.

With Vino IMHO I always thought he struggled a touch in the big mountains. But overlooking the doping issues, he did like the odd attack or 12 in a race which is always nice to watch. If he gets picked for the TdF I'm sure he'll go on the odd attack but he'll also be a more reliable teammate than he was to Jan in the Tdf 05, as I'm guessing he'd like Contador to remain at Astana at the end of this season.

7/12/05: Grenoble -Courchevel. Armstrong didn't have the legs to match Valverde's sprint.

He actually beat Lance Armstrong once. Wow. That give him some real street cred eh?

I guess my sarcasm wasn't turned up high enough. ;)

It would appear mine wasn't either, oh well.

Carboncrank- A question for you, obviously you're a Lance fan but do you like other riders or will your interest in cycling end when Lance retires again?

Oh geez.. I can just hear people to "don't encourage him". :D

I think AC is fantastic, but needs a jockey. I really like Valverde and hope he has the doping stuff behind him now so he can race. Wiggins interests me, I think he can be a GC threat. I love the old pro George Hincapie and am real impressed with Greipel and how they lead (past tense) the greatest sprinter in the world. Of course I like Levi and Horner and as racers, not just allies of Lance. I've always thought Kloden was great. Andy Schleck has become better than I thought he would.

I'm passionate in my dislike of Vino, Di Luca, Rassmussen and Ricco not just for doping but for being so blatantly stupid about it when the sport was cleaning up. I don't like Evans but have no real reason other than personality.

I like Cavendish, Boonen, and love how Robbie McEwen seemed to be better than anybody at using guys not on his team for leadout.

My favorites are the ones best at doing the thing I'm worst at which is climbing.

Then why don't you have a dislike against Armstrong?

Because he isn't banned for doping? Wasn't AC also under suspicion a couple of years ago? You should hate anybody based on speculations. Some believe he's a fraud, some don't. Some believe AC is a fraud, some don't. I don't believe anything until they're banned, in this hypocrit world...

Not quite, it isn't my "to hate" list either :p. I'm not quite a true LA fanboy either, but it disturbs me a bit when I read 7894562 posts about a man called "Pharmstrong", because I've respect for the guy so I responded, my bad :). Ah well I guess I shall get back on topic: AC is great!

Only one reason to be breaking the whereabout rule.

When I saw first Popo, then Levi and then Alberto attack him over and over again on Col d'Aubisque , then just ride away, I knew what was up. And he looked hideous. I have no idea how he passed the testing during the race. Could it have been doping his own blood before they were doing the young versus old blood cell testing?

He's had no results since then.

He was doing the same thing Armstrong was doing last year.

You have to love these guys who can see the obivous signs of doping by one rider but are completely blind when it comes to their favorite. You are not related to Gary Seghi are you?

When it comes to doping,I think they're probably all frauds, I just don't see why some choose to focus on one fraud to the exclusion of most others.

He finished eighth in the Tour de San Luis last month, which had some strong riders, including winner Vincenzo Nibali.

He's done his time. I'm ok with seeing him prove me wrong. But I guess it won't be this year.

thanks , had not seen that yet , best part was the "me halaga '' comment, (flatters me ) when asked about lance's comments about him still having the same friends as in childhood, and only being surrounded by his family, great answer...............:)

And probably the single biggest difference between AC and LA. AC deserves the attention he's getting.

Pelizzotti's the dolphin, Nibali's the shark. That is all.
