My first response was

But then I remembered that WADA can still appeal and that will mean Contadope will get 2 years.

Enjoy the Algarve Bert

No wonder we don't get to organize World Cups and Olympic Games.

In the first case Spain just wasnt corrupt enough.

In the second case Spain was too european. Cant have Europe host 2 in a row anymore.

But Barcelona 92 wasnt that long ago. Many would argue that Barca92 led to all this.

awaiting to hear what were the two specific arguments brought forward by the contador's team that resulted in the reversal.

as i mention one hundred times already, i cant understand why those two 'saving' arguments (submitted within a 10-day appeal window) could not be brought forward with the original submission to the disciplinary committe.

what could have happened in the 10 days that was not settled 6 months earlier ? strange.

I would guess that this has been set up to give the superficial appearance of due diligence.

Viva Espana! You have freed another victim. *** edited by mod ***

NOTE: stop with the stereotyping and insults. Next time you will be treated not like Contador but will receive a suspension.

How is me stating facts of corruption in places I have visited stereotyping???

Now don't be greedy - 1982 and 1992 - how often do you want them?!
I wasn't even born in 1982, and Barcelona is a long way from here for a 9-year-old. :(

Don't mind me, I'm just trying to vent my embarrassment.

Been there. Done that.

Are you a Basque? Catalonian? Galician?
Why? Do I have to be anti-Spanish to want Contador banned? Is that what you're implying? Why yes, it is.

I can only offer praise to the RFEC for the decision and Zapatero for publicly supporting a victimised member of his country, it is clear the lack of a lower limit for Clenbuterol is totally unfair and can produce positives for innocent people. With Contador tested and failing at a tiny level in a new test that only he was subject to it would be a disaster if he was then banned
The Spanish bodies are a disgrace but in this one instance i applaud them for making the correct and brave decision

I just saw a story that the UCI may review Saxo's proteam status if AC is suspended. McQuad had said that Saxo's status was safe.
This seems like outright threat by UCI so Contador won't challenge any ruling. basic mod tactics...."not only will we go after you, but we'll go after everyone around you....". If Contador would have played nice and taken the one year ban then Saxo would be safe, but now.......

Yes, the authorities should make the riders aware of how good the tests have become so they can modifiy their programmes accordingly.

Just pathetic.

I am Spanish and think this is shameful.

When is Contador racing in Italy again...

Hopefully CONI will do something about it.

Are you accusing people of racism? If so you can get the hell out right now. Hating cheaters crosses all national boundaries.

I would love it if CONI continued their practice of keeping Spain's house in order for them. Does the Tour de France pass in to Italy this year?

Now I know where your comments are coming from.

If this entire discussion means what I think it means, do understand that we do not condone such behaviour here

He's not being racist towards me nor accusing me of racism, he thinks I'm an anti-Spanish nationalist and he's being, well, nationalist himself.

Just because you defend someone based solely on their nationality regardless of the facts that doesn't mean that's what you should do. Unfortunately the RFEC and the government seem to agree with you.

CONI are strange. Keeps Spain's house in order, yet then gives the like's of Di Luca odd bans.

I know this is a little off topic, but i think CONI are about to get into a massive fight with Ricco, meaning they'll be too busy to do anything about Bertie. I'll be shocked if Bertie rides the Giro though, after what happened with Piti.

(I do realise that last para seems contradictory though)
