These guys believe they know what color Lance's duke is everyday.

Thoughtforfood said:Wow, Armstrong is NOT handling 3rd place very well at all. A loser will always act like what he is.

Will someone please shut the two of them up?

scribe said:Expect Contador to experience this exact same situation (blunder), from Wiggins point of view, several times during next year's tour. No slipstream for Contaking and no clear view of accelerations for him.
jpmcmahonjr said:The overall dislike for Lance is comical on this forum. I mean seriously you are discussing a 7 time TDF champion. A man that with the help of his teams brought cycling to the forefront of "International" media. Without Lance all these new cyclists (ie. Evans, Schleck's, Contador, etc.) Would not have the overall media attention. The advertising dollars, endorsements potential and salaries. You all live in a small fish bowl if you truely hold Lance as low as your posts display.
I like both Contador and Armstrong. They are both Great champions who have truely changed the sport with the abilities on the bike. If you don't see it for what it is then you live blindly in a box.
Neither handled a lot of things that well in the TDF!! Neither and honestly that is what is to be expected in a team that has two leaders. That is what all the fuss was about before the tour and to this point. It's called cause and effect. And, btw one thing I will let you know not once have I seen Alberto recognize that the TDF is won with a team. One man stands on the podium, but 9 riders comprised that jersey and place. It is his one weakness and if he doesn't have as strong a team next year then I guarantee you he will recognize it real dang quick. Alberto was and has been the benefactor to the Lance/Johan model in all of his Grand Tour wins. Period. As Lance was the benefactor for his 7 TDF wins in a row.
Now give it a rest. They are both pampered champions!!!!!!!!!!
Scott SoCal said:Clever last question. Read this from Axel Merckyx's Twitter;
A champion is also measured on how much he respect his teammates and opponents. You can win a race on your own not a grand tour.
A rider better respect his team and his DS. Period.
JB may not want to deal with a loose cannon prima-donna. Ever thought of that?

pistolero, there is no "i" in "team". what did i say in March? Lots to learn. Restated.

Scott SoCal said:Or could it be that Contador alienated himself from the team by his riding? You think Bruyneel was upset with Contador on stage 17 for what reason?
@johanbruyneel This ones for Alberto, it is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt!
Cobber said:Not even close, sorry.... The English translation of AC's comment was terrible. We all saw Lance on numerous occasions saying "no comment" and then commenting afterwards. Some people observed those comments through rose coloured glasses and made up their own minds, while other people saw the same comments and reached a different conclusion. The difference with AC's comment is that English-speaking readers were all forced to read them through one persons perspective, a reporter who was obviously trying to stir up something that wasn't there!

Scott SoCal said:You're right. What LA should have said is "Contador is impatient and doesn't follow team orders. Everyone on the team wants to cut his throat, especially Kloeden, but JB won't let us".
That would have been alot less dis-respectful than "no comment".
frizzlefry said:LOL, Imagine that. Really?![]()

scribe said:We shall find out next year! If he thought the hotel was hostel compared to the road this year........
scribe said:In other words, it is OK for Contador to question a teammate's character after he wins the race......because it's all just Spanish.
Scott SoCal said:I Disagree;
1. Power to weight works on the steep, not in a full headwind. The smart riders waited.
2. When Lance attacked he put minutes in his rivals NOT 21 seconds.
3. On Ventoux, Lance was marking Wiggins an FRANK Schleck, not Andy. Did Lance ever attack on Ventoux? No. He followed wheels because that's all he needed/could do.

Proper translation:
My relationship with Armstrong is none-but independent from his personality, he's a great champion, has won 7 tours and done a great job in this one, but on a personal level(referring to his personality) I haven't had a great admiration towards his, and never will, but again-as a rider-he's a great champion.

but then again- what more can everybody expects from "LA's worshiping VELONEWS?
