Uh. No. I have no prejudice, except for the one you are projecting

Im afraid this sentence doesn't make sense....whichever way you look at it.....

Feel free to ignore my points of the Yates brothers having a choice in the matter, that speaks to your prejudice.

I didn't ignore it....I addressed it

To finally kick your argument to the curb, consider the development of both Wiggins and Froome, who have arguably improved ("developing home talent") to such an incredible extent that it is difficult to find any other riders in history who have done so to such a miraculous extent. And breaking a Garmin contract in the process - or does your memory not extend that far?

You have to try a bit harder to 'kick' my 'argument' into touch than with a series of irrelevant non-sequiturs...

Really. Perhaps you used invisible ink but I do not see your discussion of a rider's choice anywhere in this thread or your last 2 posts.

As for your inability to see that Brailsford's remit to "develop home talent" has been met by his development of Froome and Wiggins into arguably the best riders in the world when they were racing, well.

It explains a lot.

Brailsford remit didn't end 3 years ago and was not limited to a mere two riders.......you are sounding very desperate.

Still no counter argument to, or pointing out my error in missing where you discussed rider choice. Perhaps you are in error in claiming you addressed this point?

You started the personal angle by claiming my post was based solely on prejudice, despite listing 2 arguments that you then did not address at all, only to then claim you did.

Trust me, if it had have been an Aussie or any other nationality making such hypocritical, illogical claims regarding "remits" or promises I'd be talking in the same way about them. There is no prejudice other than the one against idiotic hypocrisy.

I recognise your baiting now via the use of the emotive "you are sounding very desperate" claim. I want to simply point out that I see your attempt to elicit an emotional response and suggest that I ignore your posts going forward.

Its ok....we all have prejudices......its just important to be able to recognise them.......otherwise we can never take an objective view on things.......your last two responses were emotional because I pointed out the emotional basis to your original remark......now you are trying to use that as a stick with which to beat me.....as well as trying to impugn my reasoning by an accusation of 'baiting'.....just because you are discomfited does not make you 'right'......especially when my initial response was to address your out-of-context highly selective quoting which was intended as portraying the Cookson quote as pro-Brailsford when in reality the full quote was a strong critiscism.....you misconstrued Cookson's words.....you did this because the ACTUAL quote did not fit in with your oft-reapeated prejudicial view of Cookson

In an idiotic way. It's like he's saying the Yates brothers have no choice, and Brailsford can just snap his fingers and make them ride for him.

Smacks of a totalitarian mindset to me.

It's also very short sighted: you need some riders on other teams earning points for your Olympic point total to maximise your team size. If you have all your Brit riders in one team they can't all earn points.

I will give Cookson some credit for not doing a McQuaid and launching serial public attacks against any and all should they stand in his way. I read him as saying "if wishes were fishes the Yates will be on Sky." The flip side of that is we know the UCI and ASO is involved in team selections. JV said so.

IMO, it's only a matter of time before Cookson is in totalitarian mode than the more refined actor we see now. It's only been a year and the guy is already giving JTL the Landis speech in an interview, and publicly fired Kreuziger.

We just need a juicy doping case where he claims "jurisdiction" and we will have a full house.

Very good post.

I'd also add the gratuitous promotion of the passport. Appears they want to preserve the system over fairness. We've seen with Menchov that deals are done off the back of it and as JTL eludes there are several riders that recieve letters that goes no further. Passport letters are just a replacement for the "Hello its Hein, please come in for a chat". Cookson sounded like he didn't want JTL to start dropping names on the letters front.

Cookson has gone the way of non-suspension suspension; threats, bans whilst passport case take an forever to resolve etc. Considering the athlete gets 21 days to respond to the letter and the UCI can take up to 15 months to deliver one, they are in the box seat to behave in any way they see fit. Nothing has changed. Probably has got worse to be honest.

Precisely.

The irony, deriding another for their sentence construction whilst using incorrect language and excessive punctuation to make the very poorly delivered point.

Of course we're a little informal here, which is fine, but one should engage caps lock now and then along with the occasional apostrophe and not wear out the full stop button....... especially when critiquing others

No, not at all. I regularly admit I wrote posts from my phone and it auto-corrects and you loose formatting. No biggie.

Alas you were trying to be smart while critiquing others with incorrect use of the english language... and an awful lot of dots...... ::cool:

I'd say just stick to the facts and lay off the personal elements. Better for all.

Oh, but it's more than that, the UCI want's a panel inside the UCI doing the National Federation's job so the tiny glimpse of the fraudulent system we got with Kreuziger, and JTL's firing isn't visible to anyone.

And yeah, the fraudulent promotion of the passport continues.

Exactly. Drawing it all "in-house" is a recipe for more concealment and we'll never know what played out.

I'm surprised the federations agreed with the new format (with the exception of the UK, its perfect for them).

I'd lay off the lying if I were you......you were the first to critique use of language.........and then fell on your own sword

Good summary. To the bolded: It's an unambiguous message. You spit in the soup, you get blacklisted.

With a touch of Skt protectionism from Cookson. He's good! Could probably teach Hein a thing or two at this rate

??

There's a UCI bylaw on unrepentant-ness? That's news...

And one can't make public comment on the passport system? This is not China you know. We do have free speech... even in the UK.

I'm not a fan of censorship. Let JTL speak.

As peloton says, you gotta be kidding.
See thehog's post for further details as to why you're all over the place on this one.

You must have missed the bit when Lance got a lifetime ban.......rather than a handful of years....... and also pretty much every judicial system where a guilty plea attracts a different sentence to a denial.......besides I'm surprised you want to read more of JTLs horsedung about dehydration.
