13.45 Vrečer

He's made big improvement this year in TT. He finished only 22 seconds behind Brajkovič in the national championship. He was sick lately so this could be the reason for him to perform badly but top 15 is definitely possible for him if he is in top shape.

Dissapointing that GB pick a rider who has barely threatened the big time triallers in about three years over a rider who has already won three tt's this year including the national championships.

edit: ok, Millar won the giro tt, but come on, who was there.. really?

(although granted the same argument could be used for Alex's national championship, but personally, i think the national champion should always go to the worlds)

I'm sure TeamGarminFans disagrees.

Forgotten why he's starting 3rd in this startlist?

Dowsett's had a good few days, but he's got a way to go yet to get selected ahead of the guy who finished 2nd last year and won the Giro TT. I mean, it's not even close.

Holding the GB ITT champs at a point in the season where everybody can contest it would be a good help - Wiggins and Froome both put in stunning ITTs in the Vuelta but couldn't contest the nationals. Dowsett looks to be a very good ITT rider, but you'd say Wiggins and Millar still ought to be no-brainer picks if they're up for it.

46,4km is nothing like long enough for a Worlds ITT. I'd like to see at least 10km more.

Strange, no De Gendt (or other second Belgian) on the startlist? I was pretty sure he was going to ride. Still, I would've prefered to see Monfort ride instead of Cornu, who is seriously overrated IMO.

Except for last year's Belgium NatITT, Monfort has had better results than Cornu in every head-to-head they've had since 2007 (not counting this years NatITT, where Monfort had a mechanical) and Cornu has shown barely any ITT form (or form in general) lately (54th (!) in the Eneco tour ITT). On the other hand, Monfort finished 10th in the Vuelta ITT and 6th overall, 14th in the Tour ITT and 11th in the Tour de Suisse ITT)

EDIT: nevermind - De Gendt is on the startlist; just not amongst the favorites quoted.

It may just be that Monfort wasn't intrested in the race.

Totally agree there's no need to hold back on the distance for the worlds I mean it is the worlds. As for Dowsett he really could become a force in the TT in a few years.

No, Monfort tweeted "belgian TT selection for the worlds: I respect that selection and even more the 2 riders but I'm better than them in 9 out of 10 TTs!"

Your heads vs heads are wrong. De Gendt and Cornu have beaten Monfort more than the opposite way around.

Again, my picks are:

1- Martin
2- Cancellara
3- Millar

Still my choice. I chose Millar over Wiggins due to the technicality of the course (Millar says he doesn't like it, but I guess Wiggins would like it even less), so why did I choose Martin over Cancellara:confused: Probably because the Panzerwagen seems to have ruled the TTs this year. I think it will be really close.

I hope Konovalovas does well, he's had a crappy year. And I hope Castroviejo does.

Ok, ok.
Every time I doubted the Panzerwagen in the duell, I regretted later.
I wonder what happens when I stop doubting now.

1 Martin
2 Cancellara
3 Wiggins

btw, just sent those guys to Cancellara's hotel. They are paid to play until tomorrow morning nonstop.

12:43 Martin Kohler as well, Ferminal! Don't forget the Swiss national time trial champ. Anyway, he'll probably scrape a top 30.:p

Hopefully Phinney can do well. His tt around Salamanca was quite impressive. Me thinks this one with the extra technicalities will suit him a lot better and this course is less undualting.

I am not going to be able to watch this which is annyoing!

1. Cancellara
2. Martin
3. (Wiggins?)

Cancellara said he is feeling well, and he's unbeatable in 1 day TT's. He will be Martin by about half a minute. Idk for third. Millar said he is out of form. So ill go with Wiggins.

I think Cancellara will crush it. After he takes the TT jersey, I hope he takes the road jersey, too. Supposedly he is targeting both, though I have far less confidence in him for the latter.

Behind Canc, Martin. And it would be great to see Phinney do well and take third. Since I think he certainly could do it, I'll go with him. So I agree with Cinteq.

1) Cancellara
2) Martin
3) Phinney

I can't wait to see this.
