'It is too early to be able to determine the precise severity of disease'
Anthony Fauci today.

A lot of people were calling for his firing. Many because he is not doing enough to get tests out and vaccines approved for kids. What you guys totally miss is that he is a civil servant, so he can tell y'all to go pound sand.
fauci is a fame whore, and many of us have been telling him to go pound sand for months.

One of my favorite emails came on a Saturday morning in early March 2020. After receiving an email about the experiments at the Wuhan lab, Fauci emails his deputy, Dr. Hugh Auchincloss:
“It is essential that we speak this AM. Keep your cell phone on … Read this paper as well as the email that I will forward to you now. You will have tasks today that must be done.”
Hmmmm. I wonder what that was all about. As Auchincloss replies, “Will try to determine if we have any distant ties to this work abroad.”

Your quote of the media doctor and this link with other quotes from him is exactly why I ignore his "facts".

Top US scientist Anthony Fauci said Tuesday that while it would take weeks to judge the severity of the new Covid-19 variant Omicron, early indications suggested it was not worse than prior strains, and possibly milder.

The funny thing is that the same people who claim SC2 came from a lab are saying that omicron came from a lab. They are equivalent to flat earthers or creationists. None of the known experiments done in Wuhan couldve possibly led to SC2.

"Unless you are 100% sure that this vaccine is 100% safe for 100% of those who take it (you aren’t), you have NO moral right to force or coerce it on ANYONE. In fact, choosing to do so is an evil action.”

"You can strongly recommend it. You can explain why you think the benefits are worth the drawbacks and/or risks. What you can’t do – if you want to stay on the right side of morality, that is – is impose a negative consequence for making the ‘wrong’ choice. THAT is coercion.”

Now if only Fauci et al & some of the tyrannical pro-mandate politicians would adhere to this.

"Doctor explains how omicron variant could speed up end of COVID pandemic"

Good grief. I know of another way to get protective antibodies with practically no risk. This one simple trick is something big virus doesn't want you to know....

These numbers scared the forums. Shock :dizzy:

Should we wager on the R number? By the way everyone is still out and live. Bars are bumping. Frank B can tell us.
No untrained rants or calling anyone a fascist please. Never know when the trigger comes. Dude straight up called me a fascist here unreal to take it like that.

Nothing is ever 100% safe, so this is an incredibly lazy argument. Seatbelts shouldn't be compulsory either then, as there is a small chance they could trap you in a burning car for instance. If you are in favour of making everything voluntary, you are a radical ideologue, in my eyes.

The medical fraternity is still debating the pros and cons of aspirin. Most people thought it was necessary or a necessary evil especially in the early days of the pandemic. The pre antibiotic, polio vaxx, measles vaxx, rabies shot etc days wouldn't have been much fun either...............my brother isn't a dummy but he's anti vaxx and there's nothing to be done about it...........we converse as normal .............for the moment.........

Great points. And to take their argument at face value, they would also disagree with the mandatory smallpox vaccinations that led to its eradication. It would be immoral to rid the world of smallpox in their view. Just facile nonsense.

Houston is wild and wooly, don't see a lot of masks these days in most areas. Rural parts of the state never did much masking that I saw, and I travel all over the state frequently. We've only had one customer announce a vax requirement so far , and less than half of my service techs in the Houston office have taken the shots, so they're SOL if they have an emergency breakdown and only an anti vax guy is available. I'm curious to see if they hold to their policy.

The seatbelt analogy is such BS I get so tired of hearing that from the pro-vaxx disciples. When you strap on a seat belt you're not injecting a vaccine into your body, i.e., it's not a medical procedure/intervention that has potential side-effects & long-term risks. Just like when I wear a weight belt when I'm powerlifting at the gym or a helmet when riding, those don't carry a side-effect risk such as injecting or injesting a pharmaceutical. Furthermore, you need to familiarize yourself with informed consent & medical ethics involving medical procedures/interventions.

The COVID vaccines should be strictly voluntary & never forced on anyone. There is no long-term safety data. I hate to break this to you but Pfizer unblinded the clinical trials after only six (6) months! The vaccine trial wasn't due to close until Jan, 2023. (It's not standard protocol to unblind a clinic trial early). There is no longer a control group. Once the trial was unblinded, the control group was encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as the vaccine became available. A few months later 16,500 of the 18,000+ control group had been vaccinated (there goes the long-term safety data). The clinical trial is completely over & there's not even a requirement that Pfizer issue a six-month report. And then people wonder why the vaccine hesitant have concerns with the long-term safety of these vaccines. Simply amazing that the FDA would give full approval as opposed to leaving it as an experimental emergency use only status.

"Informed consent is the process in which a health care provider educates a patient about the risks, benefits, and alternatives of a given procedure or intervention. The patient must be competent to make a voluntary decision about whether to undergo the procedure or intervention. Informed consent is both an ethical and legal obligation of medical practitioners in the US and originates from the patient's right to direct what happens to their body. Implicit in providing informed consent is an assessment of the patient's understanding, rendering an actual recommendation, and documentation of the process. The Joint Commission requires documentation of all the elements of informed consent "in a form, progress notes or elsewhere in the record." The following are the required elements for documentation of the informed consent discussion: (1) the nature of the procedure, (2) the risks and benefits and the procedure, (3) reasonable alternatives, (4) risks and benefits of alternatives, and (5) assessment of the patient's understanding of elements 1 through 4."

"It is the obligation of the provider to make it clear that the patient is participating in the decision-making process and avoid making the patient feel forced to agree to with the provider. The provider must make a recommendation and provide their reasoning for said recommendation"

I don't understand the point you're trying to make with aspirin? It's not mandated or coerced on people. MDs recommend a daily baby aspirin to some of their older patients but by no means do they coerce or pressure their patients into taking it. Curious: Is your brother recommending people don't take vaccines or that he doesn't want to take them himself? Big difference - one aspect is truly "anti-vaxx" while the other is "pro-choice."

I'm pro-choice & I never tell anyone not to take this vaccine or any other vaccines for that fact. Personally, I'm not interested in taking this vaccine as I have not taken many vaccines in the past anyway. Besides, I now have post-infection immunity from the Delta variant. I experienced moderate symptoms that self-resolved without needing any medical intervention whatsoever. However, according to Fauci et al, the MSM & the pro-mandate politicians, as a 60 yr old I should have died or at the very least been hospitalized in an ICU ward fighting for my life. As a boomer, I've also had the chickenpox, mumps, measles, etc, & I'm still alive to this day - simply remarkable that anyone could survive those childhood viruses without vaccinations.

The problem is if someone is "pro-choice" & "vaccine hesitant" on the Covid vaccines, they easily get lumped into the infamous "anti-vaxx" category. I believe this is the result of the culture of fear that Fauci, the CDC, the MSM (fear porn) & some politicians have created with this pandemic. And this culture of fear has basically turned many of the vaccinated against the unvaccinated, and even against those with post-infection immunity!

The use of RNA vaccines is fairly new and of course there is no long term data about long-term side affects - We'll have to wait 20 or 30 years for an answer - The other types of vaccines used for COVID have been around for a long time and have therefore been tested for long-term side affects.

I think the point is if you support choice then you would need to accept that more Americans would have died. The stats suggest most would experience mild or no symptoms as you did to achieve a level of immunity without vaccine but at end of the day nearly 800,000 Americans have died from Covid according to the official statistics - most of any country.

No by your definition he's not anti vaxx, he's pro choice but he's also talking about supporting some politicians that I never thought he would be interested in. My point about aspirin is just that such an old drug is still contentious re its use so if that is the case why not not new vaccines as well ?I'm the same age as you or thereabouts and at least in my experience there wasn't much opposition in the past to taking vaccines as far as I remember but it seemed to take off in a big way with the autism debate and some parents claiming that their children became autistic re childhood vaccinations and the internet seemed to be fertile ground for growing that opposition. Since then opposition to government mandates and vaccinations has grown and become more vocal but it still hasn't stopped the majority of adult Australians getting double vaxxed. Some probably have medical exemptions as well or maybe even religious ones.

These numbers here are skewed in my opinon. There are instances where someone dies with covid, not from covid and those are added to the numbers everyday.
