First time in two years face mask mandates are cancelled here in Slovakia except hospitals and care homes. It is kinda refreshing. I dont think it will cause spike in cases. We will see in the fall but for now pandemic in Europe seems at least stopped for now. In Slovakia omicron wave was milder than delta and alpha. Still think worst time of covid were pre vaxx in early 2021. At least here. I live normal life since november. Recently I have been in Czech rep. and I noticed border crossing only when provider text me about roaming. Just as in good old 2019 times.

And as weird as all of this sounds, even to the mask and vax skeptics; I live in a state where the current primary candidates for governor and other high adminstrative offices are campaigning on their bonafides towards fighting all vax and mask mandates. Meanwhile; the current incumbents seeking office left a large percentage of Covid 19 patients to travel to adjacent Washington State for care in the wake of their active denial of medical crisis. They are pursuing the same posture on other social care issues (which I won't specifically name to avoid the "political" discourse ban) as though these health circumstances don't exist. This isn't China or Russia but seems scarily the same for the citizens. Health and truth are getting sicker by the f*cking moment in the US.

Your post is tempered w logic and reason. The idea that public safety is a liberal value is insane. American history says otherwise,public safety,common good and patriotism have a vaccine backbone, just part of our country,common goals and common,collective sense. Surf around the internet and you can find the confluence of crazy and common cause..padded dashboards,safety glass, asbestos,leader gas,seat belts,..the list is endless..the funny or not funny part is heated arguments between loony zealots arguing that crumple zones,catalytic converts,or air bags will change life as we know it..accept the use of car seats and all is lost..a waste of time and energy..add Covid preventions to the list of world ending life altering travesty.. Wearing a mask,not be dirty when you can avoid it and getting a vaccine,is and always will be next to nothing for the good of all.

It's weird to me all the P words..but previously polio ,pandemic,patriotism,pragmatism,politics didn't have the current disastrous mix. In all branches of the United States military..best guess by all services because of record keeping..less than @300 cases of vaccine anything, so as to say,if you were allergic..okay a problem that needs to be solved, when you enter, no discussion or compromise. You are required to get a standard battery of vaccines or you don't pass go. Simply understood,universal. When you get specific deployment vaccines..you need to get them as the initial part of executing your orders..trust me..getting Africa specific vaccines is not fun..but getting some exotic affliction isn't either. And yes there is complaining..before,during and after vaccination, but again it's just universal understanding that vaccines and military service are not able to be separated. DOD reports are saying that they have never seen anything like this in the history of our military..there was no such thing as widespread vaccine resistance or hesitancy at any measurable numbers before @2..2.5 years ago? Gotta ask why.

From what I have read and listened to less than 300 service members have left the services because of vaccine issues..so I also didn't get an anthrax vaccine..but then again myself,immediate family or coworkers were not offered it. Don't remember widespread call for Anthrax vax to enter school for kids..

Your statement was the DOD had never seen anything like this. Yet you're statement is incorrect because this has happened in the recent past with an anthrax vaccine. I got it but then again it was my last years. It was mandatory. Additionaly I got the JE vax for tropical climates in 1992 yet it was only approved in the USA march of 2009. I can remember many in the USnavy and USMarines refusing that vax.
