Good Qatar start for me : Boom + Boonen + Haussler = 62 points in two stages

I'm glad I have Boom + Boonen + Haussler + Renshaw. Scored the Trifecta today. Where do I collect?

This game has definitely increased my interest in not only watching the Pro's but getting on the bike myself.

same here- I hit the jackpot yesterday in Qatar and locked out the podium and even Degenkolb came second in mallorca. Then the bad news about Ricco took the shine off things.

I never realised there were so many pro races in February..

End of Feb/ early March there are more races than you can shake a stick at.

3 good days in a row. 2 Farrar wins, A Haussler win (but everyone has him) and Hesjay comes up with a 6th in Mallorca (great considering his big points will come later when he wins Amstel, F-W and LBL).

I think I might have been the only one who thought Ben Hermans would have a breakout year. My thought process was that he'd start to get more opportunities with the Shack riders getting even more elderly... and so far so good.

He had 59 points from the TDU plus whatever he gets for today. 223 cost... I think he might turn into a very good buy.

I think I might have been the only one who thought Ben Hermans would have a breakout year. My thought process was that he'd start to get more opportunities with the Shack riders getting even more elderly... and so far so good.

He had 59 points from the TDU plus whatever he gets for today. 223 cost... I think he might turn into a very good buy.

Ya, it seems like he might be a go to guy for them this year. He will probably get to race all classics he wants as well. Good pick.

But the worst one is Haussler. He was such an obvious pick that about 85% of people have him. Hence im totaly impartial to him.

Wow... 80's a pretty big haul. He's nearly at the point where he'd be my 3rd rider with more points then last year. So far it's Cobo and Swift.

Well, I knew it was 30 something from around 90 entrants so "one third" seemed like a good estimate. Stlll a big chunk that doesn't have him. It's not like Haussler who is completely irrelevant in this game.

a CQ team has to win 40 points per day for the entire racing season!
Kinda puts it into perspective.

Alternatively, its entirely possible for someone to get huge points on a single day with 2000 points on 24th July being one such possibility.

Those who suggest the current leaders are running away with it should bare this in mind.

Thats before you consider the gold mine that having these guys in the top 10 of several mountain stages in the preceeding week brings.

So you could go 2 and a half months without a point, then be right back in it.

I ask because I saw the 756 point cost and was scared away. His best full year was 1136.

Didn't seem to be enough upside to me. The one I really waffled on was DiLuca. I think at the time there was some question about him signing and I just passed on him. Bad mistake I guess.

You are one of the people who didnt get Haussler.

Riccos all right. A lot of people have him. 42 actually so your far from the only one missing out. But missing out on Haussler looks very very unfortunate.If i were in your shoes i would leave now and join another forum for a year.

Me i just stopped short of Ricco based on my "dont have too many expensive riders" policy. But he was next on the list.

I definately saw him as a better buy than Anton. Now it looks to be completely the other way.

Even though its beneficial for me cq wise for Ricco not to score points, i would still much rather have him at the Giro.

Even if it cost me the game, i really wanted to see Ricco vs Anton vs Nibali vs Di Luca vs Menchov vs Rujano vs Purito etc.

No, I never saw him as a good buy. Since we know that his best season was fueled by CERA it's unknown how good he would actually be now. Also since he did have a decent last year and that he would be up against thougher opponents this year then I would say that a marginal gain on his cost was the best he could do. Plus the fact that the Red Cobra investigation is still not closed made him even in fanger of being a 0 pointer.

Yes they have... but I guess the question is "how successful"?

The biggest issue for me with Ricco was the cost. How many dopers coming off a suspension surpassed 750 CQ points? Is it pretty much just Basso and Vino?
