Yes better in ODIs but if Aussies get injuries he will be in the Tests for sure. Johnson will be lucky to play another test. He was fantastic in South Africa in his first test series there but never regained that form. He is mediocre these days and when he does bowl well he can only do it for a few overs before he is spraying the ball all over the place or bowling too short.

I thought Johnson even wasn't in the squad, perhaps now that Harris is injured? The three quicks that should play are Siddle, Bird and Pattinson even if Harris is fit.

Johnson wasn't in the squad, I highly doubt he will be called up.

Faulkner is really very talented, in the IPL he was a breath of fresh air. But inexperienced and there are better bowlers, I think the Aussies really like Harris and will probably put him in if fit.

Nice innings by Dhawan today and nice to see Vijay finally get dropped.

Also happy as got tickets today to the semi final at the OVal.

I bow to no man in my hatred of the Yorkshire scum (how else could you explain my willingness for Nick Compton to play an Ashes test) but...

How many runs does Gary Ballance have to score before he gets mentioned in connection to the England team?

In case anyone missed it, it turns out the Australian's batting is every bit as bad as billed, and the exciting young quick got smacked for 75.

Also, looking forward to every ball Mitchell Johnson bowls this year.

Everyone looks forward to Johnson's bowling except keepers.

Just found out that we are in a group with ENG,AUS & NZ. No chance at all for us. Will be thrashed in all 3 matches.

Just the other group is even worse.

NZ looking lethal and with Vettori back they have a very strong batting lineup with Vettori in at 8 and a strong bowling lineup with 7 capable bowlers.

NZ, ENG and AUS are very comfortable in these conditions.
I would have given us a fair chance to beat PAK and WI in England.

May have been a mistake to try a new haircut.

Apparently usual the chant was adjusted

"He combs to the left, he combs to the right. That Mitchell Johnson, his haircut is sh!te."

Gee, that was a riveting match. Great fight by the boys and good to see Malinga back in full flow..
Having only one review per innings isn't sufficient though. Vettori would have been not out, while we would have had a couple of LBW going our way.

That became too tight for me... I'm with the asian though even if we were rivals today, there should be two reviews per innings.

If they are serious about using the technoolgy why not have five reviews per innings. Two is not enough and unlimited reviews would slow the game down too much.

Botham says only bad weather can stop the Aussies being beaten 10-0 across both Ashes series. AB de Villiers does not agree with him and thinks the Aussies will be more competitive than that. Not long to go now.

A friend from India tried to explain the game and the rules to me last night, after i said to him that i didn't even have the slightest idea how this game works and i have to say it sounds really complicated. But i will try to watch some in the future maybe i'm capable of getting into it ;)

Loved it on Saturday when we started the Johnson chant near the end of the innings and the next ball he bowled was a wide! A huge roar went up.

Thursdays game against Sri Lanka will be a good contest although the weather has turned after a nice couple of weeks. It could be a DL match.

It would be better if they did not lose a review for what is an Umpires call decision, and keep it at 2.

Lol - great stuff from Beefy

I'm with Mr de Villiers here, Australia has a good pace attack and England didn't look exceptional when batting against NZ. They are still the favourites though.

Starc is only an 'exciting young quick' in the minds of people like Michael Slater. I'm quite confident that most fans of Australian cricket recognise he's only slightly above average and that the real finds (test wise) are Pattinson, Bird and Cummins. He's erratic, error prone, and in my view basically Mitchell Johnson Mk II, except a bit better with the bat. Best case scenario, he turns out to be an enigma like Johnson or Broad, worst case he becomes Shaun Tait.

I'm also quite confident that Johnson won't be a first choice quick. Surely. Not even Mickey Arthur and John Invararity, with the vast amounts of idiocy they have subjected us to, would be that stupid (would they? I wouldn't put it past them actually :().
