Wiggins surely must be making a record for days spent in yellow throughout the season.

Not yet but he will very likely hold it for the duration of this race and with the prologue he could very well continue likwise in the tour.

Yea, Sky isn't worried about the guy who won the Tour last year....keep telling yourself that.

Go re-read my post before you post such crap.

Sky are not worried that Evans took 4 seconds at this stage, 4 seconds won't do crap. Evans could take a lot more in other stages so why worry about a measly 4 seconds when you can save your efforts to try and stop him later?

Honestly....

To be fair they would have caught them if it wasn't for the nature of the descent. The peloton had to go through a tunnel and go around a 90 degree corner. The advantage will always go to the individual riders in front in those circumstances.
??? um, Cuddles was relying on more than the downhill to keep the gap. I think his legs had a lot to do with it, but you guys can find a myriad of excuses if you want.

Seriously this is like the highlight of the season for me, let me go wild for a while.:D

Come the end of July and it still will be.

Odd stage finish. Didn't expect Evans to bother and the bunch not to bother.

I assume Sky tried not to take the leader's jersey and failed.

This is true. They are not going to take risks to stop Evans winning a stage by a couple of seconds on the first stage.

Well good for them, pulling off a 10th place with that many riders is a miracle!

I don't think Sky cared about yellow one way or the other, if they could take the stage they'd have worked, decided not to. The chase failed as the 3 in front worked well together, and the chase never really organised, and when it finally did, they hit a tunnel and 90 degree turn.
Evans was impressive, strongest of the 3, and then to lead out the sprint and the others unable to come over the top. Coppel is no scrub. Nice finish to a stage.

I hope Martin and Sanchez are ok.
