Rabo are having a brilliant day so far. Watch out for Luis Leon and Carlos "9" Barredo later on.

What is the time cut off today? Some guys have finished over 10 minutes behind Durbridge. If the wind changes then some of the later guys will beat Durbridge's time by quite a lot.

I assume it's 25% as usual.

25% I could make the time limit.

Yeah, brilliant. They're currently 4th and 6th at the first timecheck. Amazing result.

So thats just over 15 minutes if someone finishes in just over an hour. Slowest guy so far is 12 minutes behind Durbridge, edit: now almost 14 minutes. The wind is starting to change direction slightly, going round to the south-west a bit more and becoming more of a tail/crosswind. Its really windy out there - Lyon/Bron currently has an average wind speed of 30mph (50kph), with gusts up to 50mph (80kph).

Bert Grabsch is a minute behind at the second check, goes into 2nd so far.

Well, Sep is either hurt/sick or really pushing his luck to lose nearly 14 minutes

Edit: if the best time improves by a bit more than 2 minutes (which IMO is not really likely) then he is eliminated

Accepted, too strong a word. Above expectation, perhaps. Don't forget Van Emden too.

Schleck is on a ripper. Only 2 minutes down at the first timecheck

Didn't he say by next weekend he would be better? Perhaps he should have gone to the TdS. This will give Bruyneel something to think about.

1:21:18 would be the cutoff if Durbridge's is the winning time according to my calculations.

Bit quiet at the first check. Popovych could be the next person to break into it. EBH has just set off.
