It doesn't alter the fact that Contador hasn`t been able to show his rivals a clean pair of heels since his return to the sport. Purito and Valverde had his measure in the Vuelta and last year Froome had his measure in the tour.

I am as much a 'Berto fan as anyone, but the maestro has something to prove. Can he still ride away from a top class field. HE HAS NOT DONE SO IN LE TOUR FOR SEVERAL YEARS.

My point is that he had great form in 2011. He could have kicked buttt in the Tour if he had not ridden a hard Giro. Him riding the Giro that year did alter his form for the Tour. Now after 2011, yes his form went down. I agree that now he has something to prove.

Froome to be suffering from injuries. Kelderman to be inspired from the football and put time into Contador.

Amazing stage profile; should see some wonderful racing over the last two climbs.

Or if not see, then at least we shall hear about it ;)

Right, that was the year AC won the Giro...so he had the Giro in his legs and iirc he crashed several times that year in the Tour. Not making excuses, just stating the facts. :p

Um...he didn't win the giro. He was DQed.

Where you can enjoy some quality comments from Jalabert, so look forward to it.

Yep.
Sometimes it's not too bad being Belgian or Luxemburger (or French).

Live streamed coverage in Australia isn't scheduled to start until 23:30 AEST, so if the last few stages are any indication, the streaming will start when the stage winner is standing on the podium.

Showing Le Mans makes perfect sense, it's a much more important event

Eurosport's fixation with tennis on the other hand...

Well, even factoring that in - the stage starts in about 2 and a half hours, and is scheduled to go for 4 and a half hours, so six hours from now, the leaders will most likely already be over the Forclaz. However, if we get more than an hours live coverage, that'll be fantastic.

I think ASO estimating that the fastest average speed for the stage will be 37km/h is a little on the low side though. I'll be happy if I'm wrong.

This happens every year. No surprise. Le Mans is a big event. Tennis is more irritating especially if match turns into a marathon of squealing or grunting. Should be more boxing. One hour all done, knockout even better.

Can we have a TV thread so this can actually discuss the racing rather than a bunch of people being ****y they didn't buy the right TV package.
