Congrats to Kuss for the stage win. With all the work he did and then without someone to work for today, he deserved the opportunity to chase the stage win.
Congrats to Martinez on the overall win. Pinot is still in good form going into the Tour.
Landa had cramps, which is something he's going to have to sort out.
Valverde, with a major lack of form, still ends up being the highest finishing Spaniard in the race. (Although his form does appear to be slowly improving). Not sure if that says more about his mental capacity to endure and suffer, or more about the state of Spanish cycling.

If they take G to the tour, they should take Froome on that basis, as there doesn't seem to be much between them. Assuming he wants to go now.

So G held back yesterday to something for today so he could lose 33 minutes. I’d take Froome over G because Froome has an excuse for his form, superior mental strength, and more dedication.

Edit: This isn’t to say that Froome is doing well or has prospects for a good showing in the Tour.

Yeah the whole 2014 situation generally felt a lot more "epic", but it was still very similar, you have to admit that.

totally different imo as that had Contador and Froome clearly having the legs to contain the situation but both played hardball and insisted the other did the work to close the deficit with the net result that by the time Contador dropped Froome and headed up the road the gap was already too big.

Here the gaps were never huge and Pinot was always in the positions in the race he was in because they were the best position his legs would allow. He didn’t throw it away due to tactics, instead it was not having a team and not quite having it himself to rescue it.

Actually in 2014 Nibali attacked the group on the flat, Froome was not himself due to an earlier stage crash, Contador should have gone with him. By the time he realized that Froome is done and went up the road, it was too late.

I think the French should form a super-team for the Tour. It's only fair, up against the hornets (who all seem like nice guys, still...)

I've dreamed before about a French billionaire coming in and building a Ineos style French super team. I really think it would work as long as everyone including Bardet is willing to get behind Pinot or vice versa.
Martin, Guadu, Ala, Barguil, Latour and maybe Rolland in a tour team with Pinot and Bardet

Well, Wiggo finished fourth or third depending in Tour 2009 so it was a "natural progression" to smash everything in 2012. Besides, for whatever reason he became an obsessed Nibali fan lately, so I wouldn't be so harsh on him.
