Very easy for Kruiswiik to write this. Di Luca will retire now, he was old, and had not many friends left. So to slap him in the face now is sooo easy.

What will Kruiswiik do if they test him positive one day? Then he starts crying, and cursing, and blaming others. And he´ll need friends then, to come back.

Nothing has changed. Di Luca old hypocrite, Kruiswiik young hypocrite.

When a rider gets caught, his victories and his other good results are given to the riders behind him. But what about the fans? Can I get my 30 minutes of cheering back?

Q: For a suspect rider, should it really have taken nearly a month for Di Luca's test results to come out? Not fair on Giro...

Obviously "The Secret Pro" from CyclingTips has known for at least a week

No, The Secret Pro talked about the passport. This is a good ol' EPO positive.

Seriously, Di Luca, wtf. I totally understand the doping, I really do. But the blatant hypocrisy? That's too much.

Anyway, this comes as a surprise to absolutely no one. Di Luca is giving Kim Andersen a run for his money.

He said it was for biopassport violation. I guess it was not about Di Luca.

This is indeed a positive test result but there's no reason I can think of why there couldn't still be a Di Luca bio-passport case in addition. The dates are a bit tight but it's possible.

I'd be interested to see the reaction of all you members who over the last two weeks have posted nothing but "yaaaayyyy Il Killer, Di Luca killerrrrrr!!! Here comes the killer!". Hope you feel like sheepish m*gs now to be honest. Slaying Sky for suspicion of doping, yet your hero has proved to be doped. tut tut

A total wellie... hope he's good at driving a taxi or working at a bar, those are the only jobs he's gonna get, maybe he and Ricco can do a "Cocktail" type routine in Ibiza.....

What a load of bull. 99% of people saying that either don't post in the Clinic or have a free-for-all attitude when it comes to doping.

Do you think any of us had any doubt that he was/is a doper?

Everybody knew Di Luca was doping. I don't think you could find anyone here that would argue that he was racing clean. People cheered him on because he provided entertainment, not because they thought he was clean...

Are you coming out from the Sky bunker to get some fresh air?

How are things going down there?

Exactly.

I´m more shocked about the hypocrisy or the now shocked people than about Di Luca.

Also, what sense does it make when some say Di Luca would´ve been mediocre if racing clean. So 500 WT pros are mediocre, or what? Everyone becomes faster with EPO.

It´s almost proven that almost everyone used EPO in the 90ies. The performances nowadays are not weaker than in the 90ies. EPO improves performance a lot. So it´s clear most riders still use it, and other PEDs. It´s that simple.

Surely, if a rider trying to catch a stage unsuccessully used it, we can only guess what the best in gc use.

hes a stain on sport and doesn't help his team who took him on purely cause of the money he brought with him.

Would the sponsor have wanted a rider who gets dropped on every single stage, never is able to attack and is completely invisible?

They signed him hoping he performs well while wearing their team kit, not for being clean. He just shouldn´t get caught, whatever he does.

Exactly. It might be the stuff from the 90ies PLUS newly created stuff. They are not faster than in the 90ies, though, because the human limit without the use of non-gene doping seems to be reached, and gene doping is still not developed enough to really benefit from it. As soon as it is the case, W/kg performances will rise again.

This is the way pro sport goes: getting closer to gene doping, available for majorities of athletes. And not reducing the stuff, and getting the sport clean.
