The only bad thing is that he'll be happy with a podium, he won't go for broke.
We need Nibali to give him a pep talk before the final mountain stages.

In fairness he is not getting any younger and a Giro podium would be huge for him, but i hope he'll try something.

Yes, he's the nicest guy in the world and it's totally understandable, but I hope that he'll attack at some point.

Unfortunately, apart from Mohoric he doesn't seem to have another very strong teammate. Visconti isn't good at all this Giro. Too bad that his best domestique fell badly before stage 1..

Visconti crashed into the FDJ teamcar in Sicily on one of the hillier stages, that's also the reason why he was all bandaged up.

I admit I had completely forgotten about that crash.

From what I heard, on Sunday he didn't feel very well. Already on Tre Croci he felt frozen.

That was heartbreaking. And probably no chance for redemption tomorrow with Astana and Movistar having strong teams

There are riders for whom this Giro can be considered heartbreaking

But Pozzovivo is not one of them.

I think it's great that he lost any chance of a podium today. Hopefully he'll remember this next year and actually attack at some point in the race when he has the form to do so.

He's getting old. This may have been his last, best chance.

I'm pretty sure it's Pozzovivo's curse that he's so not explosive that any attack will always look half arsed.

He does try but he's really not explosive at all. He's such a nice and cute person too, this was sort if his last chance and it's really sad for him not to get it.

As expected he was dropped just as the sterrato began, you can't go out of the saddle like him, expecially if muddy. Then he was also unlucky that he was in a group full of team mates of the riders in front and riders that didn't have any reason to cooperate in the chase so he sinked and probably also give up after the Sestriere (everytime was on the camera he was the last of the group).

Heartbreaking for me.

As much as cheering for a rider is.
You tell me :( .

I hope that Pozzo has a couple of years left in him and gets that podium he wants. Great rider.

Except for one day he reslly didnt do anything wrong. But it was the wrong day to be on a lesser day

I was pretty certain that he will pay the price for having a weak team. And it really happened in the worst possible way... Still believe that Domenico did pretty well. Let's hope he will be able to help Vincenzo in July.

Was he seriously the only GC rider who could be bothered to stay with the peloton during the stage today? Respect for that.
