MvdP saved at least the 3rd for the team with a 1km monster pull. But I still have the feeling that it was a bit unnecessary for the group to get caught...

Van Baarle was already really strong in E3 and GW. But he raced from behind.

Now he raced in front. And wins..
Strange behaviour from G2.

VDP and Alaphilippe apparently on a pure training ride. Didn't seem to care about the win today both of them

Kirkby is jumping around his room in his Ineos onsie..

Great win though I do like van Baarle.

MVDP just taking it easy or should we be as concerned as Kirkby?
Kirby is a giant idiot if he didn't see MVDP was training / working for Merlier.

It's Qhubeka ASSOS' fault that the Campenaerts group didn't survive. They were doing a lot of chasing for Nizzolo in the last few k's, Got nothing out of it.

Campenaerts himself did a lot to destroy the cooperation in that group (don't know if he was told to do so by the team car).

Campaenerts stopped any chance of the second group catching Van Baarle - To think Assos team management only got it wrong by 30 seconds.

Underwhelming race. Congrats to Van Baarle. GW was miles ahead.
As a race, E3 was miles ahead of GW though. Though I must say it will be hard for any race this year to surpass the moment where Bennett lost some extra Wright as a result of eating too much at once and going too deep on Kemmelberg.

Merlier in the Belgian press: Mathieu told me he was not ok. At first I thaught he was joking but he wasn't. So from that moment we rode for me.

So MVP was not doing a training ride but he apparently had a bad day. Could be a bad sign for de Ronde, but with MVP you never know.

Van Baarle with a well deserved win. Incredible strong today. Hoping for him to content on Sunday as well.

So, Kirby was right! and

"Kirby is a giant idiot if he didn't see MVDP was training / working for Merlier. " isn't wearing so well.

If anything, the fact that a teammate would say this to the press 3 days out from RVV makes it even less likely that it's true.

Wonder if its having a rest after some heavy racing. We shall see on Sunday.

In cycling this is certainly possible. But Merlier doesn't strike me as the type who would do that. And Mathieu is not very good at hiding when he has the legs. So if I had to guess I would say it is true.

But who knows, it could be a big scheme to drive WvA in the nr 1 contender position.

He's Kirby. Doesn't need to be wrong EVERY single time.
