Hardly a surprise as Ice Hockey is their national sport. As predicted by me - Yet the Canadian has given an exemption from quarantine for teams in the Stanley Cup.
I am quite surprised by the vaccine rates of Japan (11%). the more developed countries are ~ 40%. Considering the Olympics is coming, i suspect that there will be a fifth wave during the Olympics. Greed and Sloth right there.
Unfortunately, Cyclingnews has chosen to publish an article that blames Fuglsang's current condition on the Covid vaccine...sure, they changed their headline a bit, but still doesn't alter the fact that there is 0 scientific proof of the assertion. With the ongoing difficulties to get people to vaccinate, this article plays into the hysteria regarding the vaccine. Please don't listen to the ignorance that the vaccine is dangerous. It's 99.99% more dangerous to not get vaccinated.
Certainly, but his issue could be something completely unrelated, and unless there is proof of the vaccine being the culpret, articles like this only fuel the ignorance that the vaccine is too dangerous to take.It can't be denied that some people get a bit sick after getting the vaccine.

That's reasonable, but the hysteria surrounding the vaccine (particularly in the US), isn't objective in any way, and articles like this are used to justify people not getting vaccinated, which is dangerous and stupid.Or you could just argue that it might not be a good idea to take it just before a big objective.

Oh, you don't understand how much anti-vax people will latch onto anything that "proves" or supports their ignorance...Don't think that many people are basing their vaccine-decisions on one random Dane.

They comb the internet looking for things to support this absurdity...I don't think you understand their zealousness at all. They may not have ever heard of cyclingnews, but they will see this article. How many of them - especially in the US - even know Fuglsang exists?
Zero risk? Virus cases test Olympic organizers' assurances
Two South African soccer players became the first athletes inside the Olympic Village to test positive for COVID-19, and other cases connected to the Tokyo Games were also confirmed Sunday, highlighting the herculean task organizers face to keep the virus contained while the world's biggest...japantoday.com
I hope there's no more positives beyond today's news, but I'm not optimistic with the 10s of thousands of people descending on Tokyo and surrounds.
Fingers crossed for the bike races, bad luck for Martinez.
