Nope, I was watching the broadcast on Sporza, and reckoned that was what you meant. Should've asked what you were watching.

The regular r here is the same as in, say Italian - or to be more precise, a rhotic r. Quite a matter for another topic really.

I didn't see the whole stage, but as far as I'm aware the only crash occured inside the last three kms, when the complete peleton was jostling for position on a (imho) too narrow road.

There was quite a few crashes today.

Bos was passing Greipel and at that moment Greipel steered to the right (to pass the guys in front) so Bos had to hold still (to prevent being thrown into the barriers).

indeed, bos probably should have been placed a tad better. Of course it was a difficult finish all things considered.

i don't know what you're talking about but when rabobank was pushing so hard,greipel was nowhere to be seen,gilbert brought him back to the front,at the end of the stage gorilla said thanks.meanwhile,phinney was all the time at the front.

Terribly narrow finish. Positioning was very important. You have to be near the front, but with a headwind you have to hit the front late. Greipel did it (barely). Yes, in moving out he blocked Bos, but it was a fair move. EBH boxed himself in.

I just saw some riders go down and I hope they’re ok. As we expected there was a crosswind but no team really made an big effort. Maybe it will happen tomorrow. It was pretty tough out there in the wind. it felt like the spring or autumn, not like the summer.”

Strong winds, narrow roads and traffic furniture sparked several other earlier crashes and made for a nervous day in the saddle. Greipel was just glad to have made it to the front for his late dash to the line.

“It was pretty narrow so the team did a great job to keep me at the front,” he said. “I couldn’t find a gap at first and was only about 10th with 100 metres to go, but then I finally found a bit of space and I could do my sprint.”

Taylor Phinney climbed on the podium and pulled on the white overall leader’s jersey for the second day. He revealed he was trying to win the stage to pay back his hard working BMC teammates.

“My teammates did a such a great job all day today that I felt that I should test my legs and go for it,” he said.

But Gilbert did help Phinney move up - we all saw it and Eurosport UK made the comment Honest Guv.

Yes, that's pretty much what Greipel said in the interview they showed on Eurosport after the finish.

Though that doesn't negate the fact that we all saw Gilbert helping Phinney during the stage after Phinney had a wheel switch.
