Svein just entered the European scene last year. 99% of his previous racing was done in the Americas. He was actually Mr. Consistency in those days. It's taken him some time to get going in Europe. Nothing new there. Last year at the Tour of California he had a bad crash resulting in a severe concussion that messed him up for a long time. He finished his first grand tour this year and maybe now he is starting to reap the benefits.

BTW I lived in the Netherlands for a season.....Canadians certainly don't have the patent on weird.

What kind of uncalled-for reaction is this? Canadian national pride is easily hurt, it seems.

Tuft is a bit weird, that's what makes him stand out, and actually that's what I like about the guy.

while I wholeheartedly agree this is really a pathetic comment. We are indeed weird but thank god not as chauvinist and stupid as you it seems. and I myself am a huge tuft fan btw before you attack me in that.

Forgive my stupidity but I am completely confused by the jersey colors for this tour. I got it that white is the overall leader. I thought Eurosport said the young rider jersey was green. Is that right? We now have a points leader but what color jersey for him? KOM still to be decided, will he be wearing polka dots? Any other jerseys? Unable to find this info on the ENECO website.

You're such a talker it's unreal. Do you know him personally? Do you? Because I do (did in all honesty...haven't spoken to him for maybe 5 years)...and you don't know what you're talking about. He was 2nd at worlds in 2008. Up to that point his consistency was great. Now, fast forward 1 year and 10 months since that (not 3 years...your math is poor) and he's back to that level. Put in 2 nasty crashes, a bit of doubt about whether he truly cared about what he was doing and a steep learning curve and that accounts for the inconsistency.

You know, I used to race in the Netherlands...many years ago now. One thing I noticed is that every Dutch guy I met tried to ride me into the ground. Didn't matter who it was or whether they could or not, they tried. You're like that, just on an internet forum.

I don't follow cycling as close as you...but I raced for over 2 decades, with lots of UCI races all over the world. I follow riders...the ones I know. Trust me on this one, you're wrong.

Crashes or not, his results in time trials have been inconsistent over the past 3 years
On a good day he is world class (2nd in Worlds ITT is a proof of that). And on other days he doesn't even break the top 20.

Hence my point, Tuft is inconsistent. And as for me calling him crazy, well a guy who one day decides to leave home and go biking all across Canada and the US, could hardly be called normal. It is not meant offensively. I even admire that kind of behaviour, looking for adventure and going into the world with nothing but your bike (and his dog).

But somehow you react like an idiot and even start babbling about a whole story about the Netherlands.
If anyone here starts attacking someone, it's you, not me.

I'm kinda shocked that they are even talking about the race, they do chat on a bit... once during the tour they were in a discussion as to whether the size of their feet effects how they race???!!!?? I have to admit it is quite entertaining tho

1 km sprint Edvald? Bit too long maybe? Anyway, it was a nice try. And as I predicted, Team Sky once again completely screwed up in the wind. Was there a single team sky rider there at the end with Edvald?

They need more consistency, sometimes its almost as good as HTCs lead other days it just folds. However I don't think they could beat HTCs even if they were more consistent.

It doesn't matter how good the leadout is, Mark Cavendish and André Greipel will always outsprint Greg Henderson or Chris Sutton. No disrespect to Sky's sprinters, but they simply aren't the élites.

Pancake flat.
Huge chance of making echelons in the cross winds though.
Because a large part is through Zeeland... which is pretty open to crosswinds from the sea

A sprinters one.. maybe, but then for a very select group.
When you race in Holland, and it's windy (which it is atm), and there are open roads. Even the flattest races can end up into 10-man group sprints

Pretty sure there are no hills this time or they must have hidden one in Belgium
