That sure was anti-climactic........

peloton split up in several parts at 70km to go, it comes back together and nobody tries anything anymore.........

Wonder how long Wiggo and McQuaid had been talking, that there was time to get the word out to the camera moto - "Pat needs some TV time. Get back there and start filming"

Not to be outdone, Cookson should show up tomorrow shouting encouragement while Bradley is warming down beside the Sky bus. :p

Stybar!!!!!

Great victory.

Edit: wtf was Roelandts thinking? Nice attack ok but he should have stopped, he just kept on pulling. He still has the fastest sprinter in the peloton

Roelandts probably wanted to pull a Renshaw. Sounds like Greipel may have just let go of his wheel as well. Bit of a f*** up all around for Lotto.

Edit: or perhaps he didn't even know he created the gap?

Roelandts was pulling without even looking back for a,long time. I think he might have been thinking that his team mate made the gap. That's the only explanation i can think of him doing such a stupid action.

or else he was hoping for a renshaw, and then got too tired.

Well timed attack by BOom. He went just when the lotto rider swinged to his left, catching the other two by surprise.

Congratulation to Stybar. Though, I would like him to win a classic.

Lotto guys now know what to get Roelandts for Christmas...

i think boom was happy with 3rd as well. he was able to increase the distance a bit, so that the difference between the 3 and the rest of the bunch was not affected.

Two things happened. Boom always sprints on too small a gear, and (more importantly) he probably already spent his energy on his jump from the peloton to the front group.

if i have to choose between the two, then it would have been option 2.
But, I stil feel that he got his advantage in GC.

Wtf Boom sprint like a sack of potatoes nowadays or what happened?

Did you even watch the sprint?

First he has to bridge to gap to the first 3. There both Stybar and Richeze are mooching of Roelandts. Then Roelandts stops, so Boom has to go because otherwise the group would be caught by the peloton (thinking about precious GC seconds).

So how the hell should he have won when he is the one who leads out the sprint with two guys on his wheel that are relativly fresh????

some comments truly amaze me...
