After his first runner up finish at the Vuelta behind Roglic, I recall Mas said that he would try to improve on his time-trialing to bridge the gap. Several years later, his TT is still his Achilles heels, either stagnated or deteriorating. During his U23 years, he used to be above average in TT discipline.Mas had a strong Vuelta. 2nd best climber of the race. But he was soundly beaten in today's TT by Ben O'Conner.
In a couple of years my man Mas is going back to QS and win La VueltaA big what if for Mas with his nearly descent disaster. Would he do better at another team maybe?
Yup, if he crashed out there he probably doesn't podium.A big what if for Mas with his nearly descent disaster. Would he do better at another team maybe?
I was thinking more of, if he had not nearly had a descent disaster, how much time he might have gained on Roglic and the others.Yup, if he crashed out there he probably doesn't podium.
Probably zero. The Roglic group was always gonna go way faster on the downhill/flat run-in.I was thinking more of, if he had not nearly had a descent disaster, how much time he might have gained on Roglic and the others.
