I picked Nibali because I loved the heart that he showed last season. Right now I don't think his form is quite there for him to do it, but I would like to see it.

I think that Menchov with Sastre's and Duarte's help can stay close enough to Conti then have a chance to take it in the Milan ITT.

By the way you all failed.

This thread (my only such thread, regardless of what wannabe pscychiatrists in the clinic would have you believe) actually did have a bait in it.

I was hoping to see one or two comical answers to the question who will wear pink in Milan.

The best ive got is Berlusconi. Any better ones?

Team Lampre will be wearing pink.

Yes he can, I expect him to be top anyway there. What to think about Kreuziger? Has failed quite some times in a row. Can he get back and put it up as top-10 contender?

This is from an interview with him recently in ProCycling mag..

'When the UCI suspended Pellizotti five days before the 2010 Giro, he found himself pitched in at the last minute. Though by his own admission nowhere near the top of his form, he rode heroically in claiming the 14th stage to Asolo following a trademark descent.'

Not claiming Nibali is better, just I don't think the gap between them in the mountains will be as big as last year.

I really dislike Scarponi for some reason.

Yeah, Nibali was scheduled to race in California, and didn't plan to reach his big peak until the Tour. Instead he had to come good eight weeks early, and help Basso to the victory as well. This year, he's peaking for the Giro, and he's spent a lot of time doing recon of the stages. Last year he hadn't seen the route at all. He also goes in as a grand tour winner, which means a lot.

That said, of course I'm picking Contador to finish ahead of him. I've read a number of times his mentions of how hard the corsa is, and he always sounds excited. La Gazzetta dello Sport had an article & video of his Giro recon. The two minutes of the climbs in the video have me excited for the race to finally get here.

LOL. No money on Duarte?

I'd put some money on him just in case.

I hope Contador screws up. Then probably Nibali but I would like Kreuziger. Rujano will disappear as ujsual.

Rujano was ok in Giro del Trentino but nothing special. I hope Kreuziger will do fine. Seeing his result in LBL he might just have hit form. Is he taking the Giro serious or is it just preparation?

Contador,Nibali,Menchov & Scarponi to be expected to battle it out for the podium places. I can't see a lot of surprises further more. Maye Rodriguez but that's it. Riders like Anton,Kreuziger & Pozzovivo probably top-10 but no more.

I would rather be okay in Trentino, saving a true peak for the hellish week 3.

Anton, J-Rod, and Rujano were all just okay this past week, so I see fireworks coming from them in week 3.

Scarponi's has been awfully consistent this year, no flashes of sheer brilliance, and no bad days- to contend and win the giro he will have to do the same
