The mountain sprinter is back. Great to see him again, toying with the kids.
I think it was smart to start the climbs in the front and then slip some places when nobody is riding away anyway. They did the first few climbs pretty fast so not fighting in the peloton uphill to stay in the front is just saving energy. The question is not whether he's in his top form or whether he is able to win this race. The claim I was opposing was that he struggled yesterday on that climb each time they went uphill and that his poor positiong was a reflection of that struggle. And then at some point he decided he is not struggling anymore and wins the stage? I don't buy that...
I also think he is pretty far from his regular self. I think his regluar self would have launched so hard noone would be able to follow (think San Luca 2021, for instance)...
Any way you look at it, 2 wins in his first race back after constant setbacks and surgery is fantastic. Meant to say, they look super happy.Great win today, probably a lot harder than yesterday as well![]()
Guys taht was not a Stomp.
That was an absolute wheelsucking masterclass in full glory
Interesting... Do you have the link please?Interesting interview with Arthur van Dongen, who's the DS at Tirreno. He said they knew Roglic was back on the short climbs and stuff, but they thought he wasn't quite ready yet on the longer climbs, so he admitted the headwind was lucky. Roglic was also disappointed by his ITT.

I agree, and it's a compliment. You can't race like that and win if you're just good or very good. So I would say that actually it's a classic roglstomp: Primoz is dominating this bike race, no one can drop him, he's the best finisher, it's not even close.Valverde found his heir.
In a headwind that's a proper sprint. Would you expect him to take a glory pull and let Mas win it? That's racing and he won.Guys taht was not a Stomp.
