The question is not whether he's in his top form or whether he is able to win this race. The claim I was opposing was that he struggled yesterday on that climb each time they went uphill and that his poor positiong was a reflection of that struggle. And then at some point he decided he is not struggling anymore and wins the stage? I don't buy that...

I also think he is pretty far from his regular self. I think his regluar self would have launched so hard noone would be able to follow (think San Luca 2021, for instance)...
I think it was smart to start the climbs in the front and then slip some places when nobody is riding away anyway. They did the first few climbs pretty fast so not fighting in the peloton uphill to stay in the front is just saving energy.

But it's also not like the other guys weren't on their limit on that climb. You'd expect Mas to do something here given recent results, but he also only suckwheeled.

Not the best climber in the bunch today, but I don't know to what extent he was hiding from the wind and hoping the attackers would be f*cked by the headwind. Kelderman did a good job keeping stuff together.

Interesting interview with Arthur van Dongen, who's the DS at Tirreno. He said they knew Roglic was back on the short climbs and stuff, but they thought he wasn't quite ready yet on the longer climbs, so he admitted the headwind was lucky. Roglic was also disappointed by his ITT.

You know he's still world class when he's nowhere near his best form, yet still wins back to back uphill finishes in a WT race. Not sure for how much longer he will remain capable of challenging for GTs - the Tour already seems something of a long shot - but he still has a good few years of being an absolute force in one-week stage races and probably also the classics in him.

The fact that he won two stages against solid competition when he really shouldn't be in form to me is an extremely positive sign. I know these stages favored him, but if you don't have the legs, you can't stay in the front, and you don't have anything left for the sprint.

It's in Dutch without subtitles so I don't know if you can make cheese of it.

Another day when I was unavailable so just watched the stage. Amazing Champion!!! How many people can come back after his last 6 months and win back to back WT stages and take the leaders jersey on their 4th and 5th days back racing? Name one please :).
Keep on stomping Primoz you make me happy to be a cycling fan
