Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

Roglic has the most reason to be upset of all. Who knows who would’ve won between him and Vingegaard, but he still went through with the orders to let Kuss win and is probably a mix of legitimately happy for him and upset he can’t race to his full abilities. Being semi-open about that in an interview is a breath of fresh air and it’s hardly a scandalous thing to say.

Can you put the transcript here and then compare with what you think Remco would have done in this race and said afterward? Honestly curious.
Listen to the cycling podcast.

In terms of comparing to Remco…interesting that Remco seems much liked by other riders. Rog seems to have pissed off even G. A feat thought impossible.

And we also already have evidence of Remco as a perfect team player: as Ala, ask Gilbert, even this years worlds he attacked on his last legs cuz he knew Pog would follow and wear himself out. Eventually allowing WVA to drop Pog.

Main thing is Rog is saying this after the years of Kuss working for him utterly and completely.

And he would NEVER have beaten Vingo. Never.

He is a pretty boring and limited rider. He is the modern Cadel Evans.

I have lost all respect for him now.

I honestly feel like you’re letting your bias get in the way. He put time into Vingegaard on the ITT, which was ostensibly the, We’ll see who’s strongest moment. And then he was stronger on stage 6 and seemed like he held back for Vinge. He gifted Vinge time on two different stages, not even attempting to ride with him. On Angliru, Roglic drove the whole way and set the second best time ever while taking the first half relatively easy. How much faster do you think Vinge could have gone? 3 minutes faster than 2008 Contador with clinic issues?

I actually think Vingo could have won this whole think fairly easily. Rog simply does not have a comparable engine. He follows wheels and then sprints for bonuses.

Rog is an incessantly boring conservative rider. I used to give him the benefit of the doubt cuz I thought he was a nice guy after 2020. But Wright and now this makes him an A-hole.

Then again, present day, the only riders who are truly exciting are Pog, VDP and Remco. Vingo is the best GT rider but not particularly exciting.

4 times more GT wins than Remco

Again I literally do not care.

No one will remember anything Rog did.

We already have half a dozen exploits by Remco that are etched in our memories. And he is 23!

coulda fooled me, you seem like you're really upset about something.

Roglic is the greatest champion of this era. he was literally undefeated this season until this Vuelta (that he gave away to his teammate).

like what? the time he beat Paul Ourselin by 5 minutes? wow you're right i'll never forget that.

My dude, when you represent yourself as “we” and discount others as “no one,” you come across as a bit self-centered.

By then you simultaneously slag Roglic for being egotistical and rave about Remco’s, um, confident interviews, which makes me think you’re also a bit confused or blinded by bias.

But then I mostly read your posts and agree, so I don’t know what to think.

San Sebastián 2019
San sebastian 2022
LBL 2022
Worlds 2022

All more memorable than any win by Roglic.

Even what he has done in this Vuelta is more memorable than anything Roglic has done. Bwahahaha.

San Sebastian? lol. nobody gives a flying f*ck about San Sebastian. surprised you didn't also list the UAE Tour along with those.
he has a couple nice wins, i'll give him that. Roglic has won LBL and every WT stage race except Suisse. he has many dominant and memorable wins along the way, too many for me to list in a single post. he has an olympic gold medal.

and Roglic won the two most prestigious stage finishes of this Vuelta :tearsofjoy:

No one will remember any specific ride by Roglic.

Remco’s exploits are already etched forever in the annals of cycling history.

And…

He is only 23.

Covadonga 2021 is better than anything Remco has ever done, big facts.

talk to me when Remco has more GT wins than Aitor Gonzalez
Right. Cuz he will never win the Worlds. So we do not want to go there.

I literally cannot remember anything of Rog’s three Vuelta wins. Other than when someone else was saving his ass against Carapaz.

As for this years giro, I cannot remember anything but Remco’s amazing dominant first ITT win and the fact that the shoe-in Giro winner had to leave nine days in while wearing the pink jersey.

I cannot remember anything Roglic has done. Nothing. He is forgettable the way he rides is forgettable.

Bwahahaha.

C'mon you have to admit the chain drop and TT win was f'ing ridiculous.
what i remember from Rog's Vuelta wins -
Pogacar winning 3 stages, going apeshit in 2019
Soler having a meltdown
Primoz losing time in a bad weather stage
Primoz getting outsprinted by Valverde for a mountain finish
Primoz outsprinting Valverde for a mountain finish
The Carapaz stage
Primoz TT i think in his last win, it was flat with a climb at the end
Covadonga of course

So not really that encouraging to be honest
