Jumbo were trying to take it to Pog and UAE every stage they could the whole three weeks. Jumbo would set the pace and Vinge would be on the front till the last KM on every sprint stage. They set the pace on multiple stages and since stage 5 to the TT UAE strong armed them. Vinge was putting out as much, if not more due to riding at the front so long in the sprints stages, energy as Pog. Jumbo was banking on the race being as hard as possible and Pog running out of base. And it worked to their plan with Vinge looking like he just showed up to stage 1 and Pog like he actually raced the last two weeks.
Actually, IMO Jonas riding at the front of a high-tempo stage saved his some energy. He could pick his place and not waste energy trying to constantly move up. That was obviously the plan and JV was, as I put it; coldly making moves for time. Week 1 set up what was to follow. We generally agree.

Cian says Bora equipment is crap apparently. Hopefully Roglic has a better experience.

Cian Uijtdebroeks angry with his team after Chrono des Nations: “It’s always something with the material at BORA”
“That it’s always something with the material at Bora,” Uijtdebroeks said. He still has a contract until the end of 2024, but was spotted on the transfer market last week. It was fake news, Uijtdebroeks is sentences to put off his contract. “Then I’ll see if Bora can offer me what I need in the Grand Tours. If not, I look forward to another team.”

This guy is 20 and complains all the time.
A real primadona with nothing to show for it.
I think he needs a stomp or two.

He's actually quite an optimistic and funny character. A real open book in interviews. That's why every now and then he tends to say something interesting, unlike a certain former ski jumper ;)
Nah, first you show something, then you talk all you want. Remco comes to mind. This guy showed nothing yet except he's Belgian and maybe looks to be good enough for GC races one day and yet, i hear him complain way too much. New generation, new ways i guess. But looks like he already signed with FDJ so he'll be other team problem.

Are these quotes real?

Sure... to me it looks/sounds like complaining and throwing your team/employer under the bus in public. Seems pretty immature and a stupid thing to do. Interesting is not the word I would have used to describe it.

Or he is a young guy who wants to become the best he can be, is willing to do everything for that goal and is unhappy when simple things like shifters on a bike hinder said goal. You just seem like a glass half empty guy, and that is pretty sad to me.

Here he is, in October, when almost the entire peloton is celebrating vacation, riding and training hard to become better at his weakness, something we ought to praise. But here you are, shedding tears like a newborn, doing the very thing you are accusing Uijtdebroeks of, rofl.

Evidently not, if those quotes are real. He has some real diva vibes going on there.

What some people call 'open book' is literal disrespect in this case, i.e. trashing the team's equipment like that. Isn't that what Froome did at IPT? It's poor form.

It's clear he's not satisfied with how things are going at Bora at the moment, for whatever reason. But to call him a diva for saying so, that is actually disrespectful. Nothing diva-like about this guy, he's a bit more of a nerd actually.

He doesn't need to criticize the team's equipment publicly. That's the real 'disrespect' going on here. He could easily just keep these things private.

But what he's really saying in the full interview is "I'm on the market for 2025, show me the offers". It's standard sportsperson speak in order to attract interest (by letting other teams know he's not happy at Bora).

It's all of very little concern to Rog though because Uijtdebroeks will be doing the Giro next year (it's stated in the article), so they probably won't ride with each other until after the TdF, if at all.

No no, that is not what he's saying. If you actually read what he said, he simply says that they need to improve their performance because the level is there, the equipment is there, but on the road it's not happening. He's trying to trigger a more professional approach. Be happy, because that should also be to the benefit of your guy Roglic.

If "willing to do everything" means throwing shade on equipment or employer, then he's really willing to do everything. For me (and looks like most here) it's just pure disrespect to your team.

I have never heard real champions diss their own equipment or team as much as this guy is doing it at 20 years of age while not really winning anything.
Only a juvenile person could think dissing publicly someone will make him do better next time. It only throws shade on team and himself for being a whiner.

After ten kilometers my shifter came loose and I had to continue with the spare bike, which was not in order at all. I come to learn, but it's more fun if the bikes are in good condition.
Next year I will ride the Giro, with two time trials. I still have a lot of margin in terms of aerodynamics. When I look at Evenepoel or Ayuso, they have a CdA (drag coefficient, ed) of 1.5 or 1.6. I'm at 1.9 or even 2.0. I just lose a minute there. I now hope that they will make that plan at Bora, it would be stupid not to do it. Everyone knows that I have the power to ride a good time trial.
Is that whining, or just healthy ambition and wanting his team to meet that ambition? Apparently Bora haven't invested too much in his time trial, which is actually the quickest way to success because it's the most controllable part of cycling. I think it makes perfect sense for him to point that out.

Which other instances of him dissing his team have you found? It has to be quite serious if you call him a whiner. You mean the incident with Vlasov?
