Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

Exactly.

So saying Jonas and Visma are not under severe pressure, to repeat it in 2024, considering all the circumstances involved, that is just BS.

So in "prep" races i would say Roglič is under the biggest pressure, to win. As that would signal Rogla and Bora are on the right track. At the Tour, there Jonas and Visma basically must win, otherwise the season is lost, for them. Unless i guess van Aert & Co. has a breakthrough and wins a lot.
Agree, especially when Visma isn't going to win the Giro.

Yeah it's pressure. But different kind. I think everybody (including Roglič and Bora) knows buying Roglič "to win the Tour" is a huge gamble move. If it happens, it will be a surprise (big one). So i don't really think pressure is that huge on Roglič or Bora to deliver. They both know, they are gambling here.

Roglič gets paid big in this two years and probably beyond. Yes, he can get paid more if he wins Tour, but despite that, he gets PAID. So there is no real pressure for him money wise.

The only real pressure is inside their heads and that is something every rider puts on himself.

If he does, he better delivers. It's going to be an awkward dinner, if he finds himself on the ground after 5 days.

Ambition for TdF is here, but I think they invested for more than just one TdF win. Where was LottoNL-Jumbo/TJV before Primož started to win?
With or without TdF he's bringing winning culture, experience ... tiny details which will shape BORA - hansgrohe (or whatever they will be called in the future) in years to come.
It's not just about TdF but investment in teams future. From interviews with Ralph Denk I would say they are aware of that.

So if Roglic makes it to stage 6 it’s all in the bag so to speak eh?

If Rogla navigates safely through stage 9 it's game over. But we know that Rogla is a generous guy and doesn't always want to crush his rivals. He prefers more suspence and some adrenaline (natural for an ex ski-jumper). That's why he gave the Tour 2020 to Pogi instead of crushing him earlier. That's why he waited till last kilometers to overtake Thomas at the Giro. Time will tell if he donates one more Tour to his rivals or decides to win it himself this time.

No rush.
