I know he has not win it yet but San sebastien is a great race to snap some bones and miss the rest of the season, no real point to do it when he won't have a good form.
But it is the greatest race there ever was or will be!

for real: I think your are right, and I think he will/should train hard and see if he can make it in time for Vuelta and then he will have to do without warm up races.

If he misses the Vuelta, hopefully that doesn't mean that the severity of his injuries and advancing age have him on a path to Froome-like degeneration. Hate seeing a champ like Roglic miss the chance to go out on top and then struggle to ever get back to GC-winning form.
This was a terribly unlucky year for him but I think age and injury are catching up and he is now on the decline. I'd be surprised if he ever goes in the tour again.

Maybe so, but I don't expect him to be a threat to win.
Who cares about expectations, hope is all we need.

On the Vuelta topic... its hard to have him as clear favourite, this is similar to 2022, when he also had fractured vertebra and was questionable for Vuelta and then won by bonus seconds vs Carapaz.
Carapaz is also one of the favourites for me, maybe more so than Kuss. He has shown he can do it and his form in the Tour was certainly going up towards the end.

He didn't win in 2022, Wright made sure of that.

Yeah that's a good call. He looks strong and hungry. Seems like he'll be in the fight for sure.

Tell me you've never raced a bike without telling me.

IMO he is now the 4th best GC rider behind Pogi, Vingo and now Remco ... but there again, IMO Nibali was the 3rd best (Froome, Contador) in 2014 starting the TDF, so there is always a chance.

As far as this years Vuelta goes, since those other 3 aren't riding, he should be the favorite. Of course he has to start and even if he does, what will be the effect of not training properly?

Odds makers have him at 2 to 1, whereas one can get both Kuss and Yates at 5 to 1. Given the current odds and the little known about his injury situation, I think Kuss and Yates are much better bets.

I hate that argument so much I am now fully blaming Wright whereas I previously thought it was obviously Roglic' own fault
Cool...

Blaming Wright is some of the dumbest stuff I've ever seen on this forum. Here's the test – switch riders. Wright peels off after a pull, then comes back across the road and runs into Roglič, and crashes while Roglič rides away.

Wright would be seen as a complete idiot who crashed himself out and endangered a GC rider for no reason.

That someone doesn't have racing experience is about the kindest critique I could make of the "it was Wright's fault"...argument. Reality is probably that it's irrational fanboy-ism.

Freddy boy moved just as far to the left as Roglic did to the right. they were both going for the wheel in front of them, which Roglic had more of a right to because he was already ahead. you'd know if you raced a bike, the rider with his handlebars in front has the right to his position.

I don't think an ad hominem is the kindest critique you could make of a statement.
