Great news, for myself. I always want to love Rogla, who's a fine guy and a champion, but so far it's been hard. I'm sure being at Bora will help.
Above all, I hope it's a great decision for him, too, but I'm sure he knows what he needs at this point of his career. He's wise like that.

Happy to read this. Happy for Roglic and Bora. I hope the dynamics between Roglic and Hindley work out. Interested to know who they will pick as team leader for each of the Grand Tours?
Now just to hope Vlasov and Hindley are never sent in a strong breakaway.

I am not sure if things are that simple - especially if TDF doesn't work out. Wouldn't you send Roglič who's your most-paid cyclist also to the second grandtour in a year instead of compete with Vlasov for 6th or 8th position at Vuelta?

Well Roglic did change things for some reason, right? I think it's not a conspiracy theory to claim that. When trying to outline those reasons, the way Vuelta was handled must be among the favourites, right? I mean, considering the move was done right after the Vuelta, this is not very far fetched... And if the way Vuelta was handled is the reason Roglic changed teams, then it's Niermann who is responsible.
Whether Roglic rightfully believes he was being mistreated in Vuelta or not is beside the point here - since you are talking about the media and fans. It looks like media&fans perception is very likely to be aligned with Roglic's perception.
And he should be clearly better than them, too. Hindley may be a bit chuffed but I imagine he's going to be named Tour co-leader to keep the peace.

If I was Hindley I would go for Giro or Vuelta, that’s the most realistic to win

Anything can happen during season (injuries, illness, crashes...) ofc, but I think this will be the base plan. Roglic will probably end up doing two GTs, but full focus will be on TdF.
In another line, we can see that contrary to a popular belief in management circles, it's human choices like Rogla's that make the sport interest and not an "invisible hand" of the market and the opposing interests of teams and shareholders.
Had Roglic not made his move in the name of superior faith in his ability to win a Tour, the 2024 season would be likely be much less interesting.

Unless Roglič wins the Tour, I can't see him skipping the Vuelta, especially with the record within reach.
Other than that, the Ardennes are a must, at least FW and I am also curious to see if Roglič will choose Suisse over the Dauphiné as it is the only one missing out of the seven biggest ' 'one week' stage races. Personally, I would like to see him riding the Worlds, the TT route suits Roglič really well.
I expect guys like Kämna and Martinez to be at his side in the Tour, so he should have a pretty strong team, a bit weaker in the rouleurs part though.
Great signing for both parties. Bora gets a proven warrior and winner by default, Roglic gets the team for his dream - winning Tour de France. Win - win.
Yes, but he's won the Giro and had a taste of yellow jersey at the Tour last year. I think he believes he can be a leader there.

They have absolute solid material so I wonder where they go wrong. Rolf Aldag perhaps.
Not sure signing Primoz will do the trick. Signing WvA coach might. But in the timeframe given taking Primoz' age into consideration I don't believe it will happen within the next year - and time is up.
And Primoz is absolutely not going to win TdF as long as Jonas and Tadej is racing.
A loss for everyone here I think. Too bad.

So we have TJV, Bora and Roglic in this story. I understand why this is a loss for TJV. They are losing the guy who won the most races for them and would possibly continue to win. But on the other hand, he could be getting less motivated if they hadn't let him go as well, so him continuing to perform in TJV is not a given. And there may be more cohesion now that Jonas will have no opposition from within the team. It's difficult to predict the consequences, but it's not all bad for them either. That's probably why they let him go, too...
But more than that - why would it be a loss for Bora? They are getting 3rd best GC rider in their ranks. They're getting more exposure and most likely, a lot more wins than now. I also fail to see why this would be a loss for Roglic. Yes, maybe the team is not as good as TJV but if he is the true leader, that's a good compensation for him. A new challenge, better motivation, (allegedly) more money... what's not to like?
It's a total win for Roglič. 5.5M per year makes many pains go away, even if wins won't come as easy as before. He'll have a 100% shot at TdF and that's all he ever wanted. Not winning it, but having a shot with full team support. If he gets beaten by better Jonas, Pogi, both or someone else, he won't be disappointed, because he gave his all. But if he wins...why the hell not, eh?
And about Niermann...maybe you didn't notice, but i like to watch videos with sports directors in the car and the man cried every time Jonas won (stage wins). He never cried for Roglič, Wout, Kuss or anyone else. Let that sink in. He clearly liked him a lot more then others and that's fine if you are not a sports director with total creative control over racing strategy and who the team pushes to win. Looks like team boss and many others also didn't like that.
Hindley more than hinted that his goal for next year is the Giro. Denk said that they want to win the Tour with Roglic. Easy solution: Hindley is doing Giro for GC recovers and is a pure domestique in the Tour. Besides that you give share domestiques and name a co-leader for the Giro.
I think the Tour team for Primoz could look like this:
Jungels
Hindley
Martinez
Buchmann
Denz
Haller
Kämna/Schachmann/Sobbrero (someone for breaks and hectic medium mountain stages)
I think Denz, Jungels and Martinez should be pretty much set in stone if you want to compete at the Tour. Others could be changed up to have a better Giro team or due to form.
