It makes sense if we are talking odds to win it. the younger Remco with fewer GTs under the belt have a higher chance of taking a big leap forward compared to what he has previously showed.

It might be a different story if we were looking at odds of making the podium.

I’m guessing that will change when Roglic looks imperious in early season stage races.

Yeah, the older riders have to prove they've still got it every year.

It could be an apt metaphor because both will light up the Tour next year aka rock & roll, right? It'll be a perfect opportunity for the Slovenian duo to double tag Vinge & drive him crazy (& I like to see some bromance between them again like it's the Vuelta 2019 all over again, i.e. I never believed there was a 'problem' after 2020, except in terms of the 'team' Jumbo having a problem with Pog).

And to be fair, Rog has very little pressure next year, i.e. other than the pressure to perform for his sponsors & team of course. Because as far as the wider cycling viewers & audience are concerned, he's really just an extra protagonist, like added value in terms of entertainment. No one really thinks he's going to win the TdF 2024 (except me eh), so there's no negative pressure.

I'm also happy to see Denk is leaning towards sending Hindley to the Tour as well. This makes sense. He's got a great attitude & I'm certain there will be a good entente on the road between them, i.e. their strengths compliment each other.

Expect Hindley to leave Bora if he misses the Giro again. He wanted to defend his Giro title in 2023 but deferred to the team to ride the TDF. Jayco will chase hard but I don't think he's the best option for the team.

If Hindley want's to do Giro Bora really should jump at the bit to make it happen, he can win that race. UAE and Visma are going to do all the work anyway.

@Rackham @dennisdy Agreed, I'd like to the Slovenian duo join forces to some extent. After all Vingo is the new alpha, god of megawatts, so it makes sense for others to attack him one after another.

He wants to win, but he is not pressured.
