So much talk about his Giro-Tour attempt and how he was using Giro as a training camp for the Tour.
So much talk about his Giro-Tour attempt and how he was using Giro as a training camp for the Tour.
Let’s be serious, he just wanted to win the Giro and finish the Tour before his retirement.
Do not do my guy dirty like that.I think he should also show that he doesn‘t care, do some underarm serves, debate with the chair umpire, hit some 100 mph forehands… Oh wait, wrong sport
Imagine if Rogla actually starts to care. We'll see.
So what's your prediction? Rogla starting caring in the Pyrenees? Will he demolish Pogi & Vingo on Hautacam?
I get the impression that conversations went like this:So much talk about his Giro-Tour attempt and how he was using Giro as a training camp for the Tour.

Nah, Rogla doesn't care, legs are already empty ... don't be silly.
New face of CyclistAbi, abandon all hope Rogla fans![]()
If it was only in the media, then sure. But in the peloton too? Would be weird imoAm I the only one who thinks he's taking the **** with his comments? I mean sure he's not great but I suspect he's trying to ride into some form here.

This is very plausible but I don't get why Bora prefers Giro over being more competetive at the Tour. I could understand it if they didn't already get their second tier Grand Tour win last year.I get the impression that conversations went like this:
-after 2024, neither roglic nor BORA believe he can win the TDF
-bora want to send him to other grand tours because they want to win a grand tour on 2025
-roglic wants to go to the tour to show himself, compete on the mountains and finish the race, something he hasn't been able to do for 5 years
-bora try to persuade roglic to do giro-vuelta, but can't
-roglic agrees to do the giro because the team wants to win that race, on the condition that he goes to the tour after
-bora send a full team to support Roglic at the giro but don't do the same at the tour because they don't feel winning is realistic
-roglic has won the giro already, and finished a few times, he doesn't like the rain and cold, the dangerous roads. Although he agreed to target the giro he is not 100% motivated by it and does not have a good race
-now at the tour the team wants to get as much out of the race as possible, going for stages, and isn't 100% behind Roglic, Roglic himself knows he is not at his best but doing as well as possible at the tour is important to him given his history with the race.
They don't. This story is not at all plausible if you know Denk. He pretty much only cares about the Tour. The plan was to win the Giro relatively easy with a preparation more suited for the third week. Then train for the Tour and get on the podium there if not more. This is very plausible but I don't get why Bora prefers Giro over being more competetive at the Tour. Now they only look like fools with their poor Tour squad .
Nice vid but that 'entire team' is weak except for Lipo

I think after how this is all going they decided to hedge their bet with Lipowitz but I think still under the expression that Roglic is the leader and can perform on a high level. I think after the Tour this goes straight to a contract termination. The way Roglic talks here and represents the team is totally without any respect and I'm really disappointed in this conduct. If thats your mindest just don't start the tour and retire. Even Lipowitz worked for Roglic in the opening stages to give him the best position possible. You can't be a leader of a team and show this attitude in your communication.
Might as well read "meditations" by Marcus Aurelius out loud tot hem in perfect, broken English. In the Eurosport broadcast they showed a pre-stage interview with Rog in which he clarified his "I don't care" comments by saying he basically cannot control how fast Vinge, Pog and Evenepoel race so even though "of course you care", he's just riding his race day by day.
This is pretty funny. It is not about who says what, that is easy. It is about how you perform. And the truth is that Rog is pretty much the only RBH rider who has won a race. Of course Catalunya is not enough but sometimes you get injured. It is what it is. On the other hand, the whole RBH team has been performing like a mid pack PRO team. So if anybody need to be fired it is the management. They don't. This story is not at all plausible if you know Denk. He pretty much only cares about the Tour.
