Savoldelli is a cool pick.

and I would like to appoint libertine to design the fantasy tour. (if he wants to obviously)

You could always randomize it, where you pick ten or so Tours and then let the bottle spin.

Great thread, guys. I'm learning a lot.

You could take it in turns to pick stages from your favourite TDF's in the same way you're picking riders.

Surely it's the biggest race in the world we are racing, no?
Strange wish for a team being led by Basso :p
Why? He was a great TTer when he was Robo. There's not many descents where he can lose contact in France compared to Italy. Longer TTTs in the Tour as well, where my team is pretty damn great.

He was like 5th in the first ITT and also got beat in the 2nd. I think he was more impressive the year after, but I chose '10 as he was the best dom there.

But he was the best in the mountains in 2008 though

I depends on the role you want him to play. As the draft unfolds, team needs may dictate picking a better ITT version, or a better climbing version, maybe a better all-around version. And sometimes it makes sense to avoid a GT where your potential pick got smoked by a rider that has already been picked. Netserk is at least as smart as Dave B :p . If his leader falls or punctures, Fabian will be around and give Basso his Cancellarazaki :D .

When you want to, so now ;)

If you honestly already had decided to pick Falco, I think it's fair that you'll get him, but that's up to you.

I think I have a route planned for this. It is not a typical Race Design Thread type route. Instead it is a tribute to the EPO era. Much as the Centenary Tour had its monuments to the original host cities, this route has a number of monuments to great moments in doping history and is an attempt to have something that resembles a classic EPO era Tour without blatantly biasing it in favour of any of us.
