Nice game.
Mexico kept stretching the play wide, as they always do, and SA were stretched thin and clutching at straws. Or rather, most of the team were clutching at straws.....that lazy *** Modise was just looking menacingly at the straws.
Then SA got some motivation from all the noise, Mexico got intimidated and....well, you saw what happened.
SA had some nice build up play, but then they got to the last 30 meters and......no ideas. They were very motivated. Home World Cup and all that. But that only ever lasts 1-2 games before it fades. They also had a bit of luck, but that can only take you so far. Still, they played the best team in the (weak) group, so in that respect they're likely to do better later. Very nice goal, also. If any African team is going throug, it's them or Ghana (the other African teams suck and are woefully overrated. People forget good players do not equal good team)
As for Mexico, as usual they played well, as usual they have a very interesting and effective and unique playing system that works well, and as usual, they miss out on winning by a big margin because they miss chance after chance. They must be thinking "Oh if only Borgetti could be 28 again"
Also, major  at the mexican fans rioting just because Aguirre switched the starting keeper. I can partly understand them, though. Who benches one of the world's elite keepers just to play Perez? Then again, Aguirre's never exactly been bright. Playing this high a defensive line with two lumbering gorillas for central defenders was never going to end well against a fast forward. Dumb, dumb Aguirre.
I like the World Cup. It reminds me of....well, football at its most exciting. Other people seem to like the World Cup because it reminds them of something else

Must be the heat.
And now comes the part where I wait for someone to upload the France game, download it, watch it, then come here to comment on how Uruguay beat the most tactically inept French team I've seen in my life
