would've preferred a 2 year ban but it's better than 6 months backdated. At least he has to miss the first few months of the season. I hope UCI/WADA appeal.

Bruyneel must be snickering right about now....

Anyone who knows the language can translaye and let us now why he was given a reduced ban.

Fast read, sorry if not quite accurate

Long story short....they do not believe it was voluntary ingestion, so they are applying a 'strict liability' penalty and have the latitude of 'warning' to 2 years. He gets 1 year, and the UCI is making noise about getting his salary based penalty, around 1.2 mill Euros.

Will be dealt with separately.

OK. Tanx. Going with the contaminated story. Pretty sure WADA/UCI will appeal.

Throw yourself away into furnace of your own shabbiness

Lolz.

They are saying Frank got a reduced ban because he got little performance enhancement from Xipamide.
Since Mcquaid is buddies with his dad, there is a good chance UCI will not appeal.
Frank is really a very lucky boy.

Contador has good reason to be grieved.

if alberto had been originally banned for 1 year........would the case have been appealed to cas?

wada could still appeal frank's case to cas?

IIRC Alberto was originally banned for a year.

WADA should appeal.

I wonder whether this is because Xipamide is classed as a masking agent

He was but then cleared on appeal IIRC.

Why that would have been within the first 12 months anyway, I think what annoys people about the contador ban was he was riding through it.

At least Frank hasn't competed during his backdated ban.

Alberto didn't ride until he was cleared on appeal. He had every right to ride then.

I can live with one year; he will miss le Tour this year and we can now all call him a convicted doper.

But I do hope WADA appeals :)
