Sure, he was strongly suspicious during the Fuentes doping era but just look at all the big names who were doping and how many cyclists actually rode clean during that time. Not condoning him just saying how the sport was at that time.
So, Frank was indeed "poisoned" or just incredibly stupid. If the latter, then I hope he will rightly punished for it even if I am a bit of a Schlecks fan.
I assume we have no idea how much basic doping cyclists use these days, i.e. how much they take to simply get over the mountains.

then again, poster 131313 and several others have proposed a possible set up. Why not? As you also suggest, there seems to have been very little incentive for Schleck to dope up heavy duty in this tour, and his results indeed suggest he wasn't doped up heavy duty.
