Of course it is. Are you telling me somebody like Nairo Quintana, who dominated junior and amateur level races, is an entirely test tube baby chemical creation like the Dawg?

I believe Quintana to possess huge reserves of natural talent because I don't believe he would have been able to dope until he turned professional. His family were dirt poor, so much so that he couldn't even afford to enter races with payment up front. They probably barely had enough to feed and clothe themselves, spending thousands on PEDs would have been totally out of the question. As he was wildly successful before turning professional, it is entirely plausible that he was one of the greatest talents of his generation, and thus it is entirely plausible that in a clean world he would still be podiuming Grand Tours.

Ah, the second stage, compare the rider to another widely considered to be a 'natural talent' like Quintana. Case closed then.

Personally I have no idea who is and who isn't doping, maybe the odd gut instinct here and there but that's about it, I just try give everyone the same benefit of the doubt.

and...to add to his faults....he pointed to the sky logo when crossing the finish line after winning a stage of this year's tour...jesus..talk about a lack of class - you don't expect from a GC winner of a Grand Tour. These guys should transcend the sport...not grubbily point to sponsor's logo a la bunch sprinter. Sponsors should be lucky to be attached to him, not vice versa...might give some idea of his 'debt' though.....
When riders do that it is usually to highlight the efforts of the team in their victory rather than anything to do with the sponsor (unless it's a new sponsor).

Yeah, only Sky are doping. Or at least they are doping much more than everyone else, and with much more evil intent of course.

They do have some super secret stuff too, it is distilled from the tears of orphans apparently. Makes Froome go like a rocket.

you're searching for too much here.
not only sky, not even much more, nor much more evil, let alone super secret.
just more.

Tongue was firmly in cheek there my friend
hence my sarcastic response. should have added the ;) for you of course.

in lack of arguments, the fanboy's defense line so often consists of nothing more than an exaggeration of the hater's arguments, in a desperate attempt to ridiculize the hater's arguments

you've just described about 75% of the posts here, from both sides, and chucked in the classic 'fanboy/haters' axis. I do so love the debates between those two, those crazy kids.

Please stop with the fanboy/hater (and whatever other) labels of other posters. If you have an issue with another member's argument, address the argument. Thanks.

Congrats to Jimmy Fingers on 2,228 posts...added up really quickly since joining last July.

Not surprising as his posts consist of a sentence of 'you said, I said, you said, I said'

Cycle 'Chick' I really suggest you look up the word 'chic' because you are about a millions miles from it.

Apart from that three off-topic, personal and insulting posts directed at me, good work everyone.

Why is JimmyFingers getting lots of personal attacks? *Big deal he likes Sky/Froome* etc and defends them, so the flying karate kick what! Life would be pretty dull if everyone thought/said the same thing. I mean question his posts as I'm sure he does to ours, but please stop the kindergarten smack talk.

*I don't actually know if he is a fan or not*

I agree with you here, it's a slippery slope and putting your faith in somebody may end up with you having egg on your face, in all likelihood. It comes down to trust, I suppose. I feel that Quintana, in a clean world, would be just about as successful as he is as a (likely) doper in a doped world.

red_flanders said it, parulo said it. Now it's three strikes and you're out of here.

Gentle(wo)men, desist with personal attacks veiled or otherwise, play the ball not the man, shoot the message not the messenger... whatever cliche you like I don't care. Stop with the personal attacks

Cheers

Did appreciate this, esp as we have knocked heads on occasion. Personally I'm a little bit meh to Froome, he has the passport but has never lived or raced here, he's got the Kenyan flag on his bike, his girlfriend is obnoxious (rather vom inducing when she got on camera immediately after his Tour win) and he's displaced Brad, who I did like.

As for yay or nay to him doping, I just keep an open mind but do try and discredit the more outlandish theories.

It has been mentioned that pointing out the sponsor on one's
jersey is not really befitting a Grand Tour winner, perhaps OK
for sprinters but not GC champions.

If Froomie could come up with a trade-mark gesture to use
as a victory salute and on the podium and at photo-ops I'm
sure that everybody would love him even more. Too bad the
"El Pistolero" is already taken.
