yup, the tour is pretty much over already.

pretty funny that Dawg is now a classics and hill sprint specialist and also his own TTT train, and we haven't even gotten to the real mountains yet. I bet he will put another minute into AC on tuesday.

He almost beat BMC on his own.

90% of the time Sky were shown on TV, Froome was at the front. If he didn't have to waste 7-8 secs waiting for Roche, it would have been an easy.

we're lucky Froome hasn't trained for time trials this year.

Why? He couldn't have gone any faster anyway as he would have just dropped his teammates. Would be interesting to know what percentage of the time he led there.

If you are the strongest rider in a TTT, you should do longer pulls not harder pulls. I do wonder if the cameras showed SKY most often when Froome was on the front, accentuating the perception that he was always on the front. I think Froome's strength will make for an exciting tour. People now will have to use tactics beside waiting for 2km to go on the MTF.

That's what I thought at first, but then in the last 15 minutes when there were only 3 teams left, 10 minutes 2 and 5 minutes 1, the camera focused more on Sky because there were few/ no other teams, and they focused on Sky for longer and Froome still just stayed at the front, occasionally dropping to 3rd or 4th then going back to the front.

Also he went straight to the front at the start as well.

Such a shame they don't get the win which would show people for years in the future how ridiculous this was. Froome ittd most of that and totally tranquilo near the end while teammates drop off one after one.

that, I chuckled thinking about the Clinic rooting for them to win :D
Well then you don't read my posts as I have always rooted for the big doped teams and riders to win stages at the Tour de France. Felt the same disapointment when they didn't win the ttt 2 years ago or Froome wasn't allowed to catch Valverde in 2012 (though Valverde winning a stage isn't the end of the world).

Still, personally, at the Tour, I just want to see the big guys show what they are on, don't like the 2nd tier teams or breakaway guys lending false credibility to the event by being given their small share of the booty.

Didn't you see his team mates holding onto his saddle like it was a police motorcycle?

I should have added a wink. I fully understand what you meant.

Good points. I echo other posters who would like to see what % he was in front. I think SKY also benefited by having everybody but Froome take it easy on Saturday once they positioned Froome for the Mur.

Everyone knows that tailwind went ballistic, Sky just got lucky with their time of starting the TTT.

In other news:

Chris Froome is now a puncheur, a cobblestone specialist and a TTT god while not training for TT in the last year.

Me and @faustocoppi are hoping he will turn into a descending God as well, so we can rest in pace.

sounds legit. Hard to believe this is the same person that almost lost his vuelta spot to Lars Petter Nordhaug.

Biggest transformation in sporting history?

The thing is, even with his whole team in the TT the majority of coverage was still him at the front or coming off of it. The ratio was the same through the entire 30 minutes. With five people, he shouldn't have been at the front every two minutes, or one, and with 7+ riders he shouldn't have been at the front every five minutes. He burned off his own team. It's a joke even with the camera changes.
