If you read Joe's post - he asked for those issuing threats to get some "perspective".

Since its a point that you appear to have missed then I recommend reading this article onTerry Newton. who was found hanged earlier today.
Some quotes:

The above comments could be viewed as self serving or someone looking for pity.

As Joe said - it's actually about perspective.

I read Joe's post fully Dr.Maserati & please dont make assumptions upon me regarding the fact. I didnt roll in off the street looking for a fight. As he stated himself everyone here is entitled to their opinion. He has stated he received death threats ( im assuming now that they are from forum members here & not the general public). Misguided anger & frustration on their parts? Yes of course but if he's got a problem with that HERE then he can contact an administrator & get it sorted im sure. And no I bloody dont support such shyte from people either etc etc, of course its pathetic.
I also didnt appreciate the link sent regarding the death of Mr.Newton that you posted for me. Thats nothing to do with me & its nothing to do with Papp either & we should let the man rest. If you read Joe's post again im sure you can see how some can be read as a " Oh woe is me" effort. If people are sending him this stuff its not our business. What the hell does he expect from the rest of us? What can we do?? As i said contact a moderator.

Death threats and suicide suggestions are unacceptable, and the people who sent them are clearly unstable and angry people who need help.

However, you've chosen the life of a celebrity so that's all part and parcel of it. The bad stuff comes with the good. If you don't like it, then stop being a celebrity.

Joe may have an ego, but he's intelligent. He's fighting the PR war in public and behind the scenes, because he knows the consequences if he doesn't (witness the shell of the man that is Landis).

I'm not sure that I'd high-five Papp, and he may be doing what he's doing for the wrong reasons, but at least it's progress in terms of naming names.

But, let's be honest: you're just upset that your sacred cow - whomever that may be - is taking heat because of Papp.

So, suck it. Your cow's about to be butchered.

Thanks for my laugh of the day. I have no sacred cow, I believe all pros are doping. I don't care who gets butchered or not, I'd like to see a clean sport.

I'm just sick of reading all about Joe as USADA's mouthpiece, slapping himself on the back and being the self-professed bearer of great news. Little tidbits like this are nothing but ego-fodder for himself, as he careful sows the esoteric mystique of his unique position:

How is this kind of stuff even useful? He comes off like a complete ****.

If you don't look at his twitter, this Clinic thread and one other, you probably won't see him much of anywhere. Case solved.

I used to have a twitter account called ContadorFTW, and you told me that it had too much pro-Contador and anti-Armstrong. Contador was in the username and in my profile, and you wanted me to change to suit your own interests. If you don't want a bunch of Contador links, you don't follow people twitter accounts with his name. The same goes here - you don't want to read about him, but you go to a Clinic thread about him.

It's really easy to not see stories about him. I check a lot of cycling sites on a daily basis, and only ever noticed one here and one at Velonews. I didn't have to click either link.

There are a lot of investigations into doping in pro cycling, but not much news about the details. I'm grateful when two anonymous riders talk to the Wall Street Journal or New York Times. It gives me hope, as did the tweet about the former LA teammate.

i see one consistent problem, over and over, to the point that one begins to wonder if those obsessed with joe's character are somehow involved with his list...why oh why would one want to NOT discuss joe's message and instead continue to attack him personally:confused:

i never met joe, don't correspond with him nor seek his posts out, but i have both publicly agreed and disagreed with his posts when they flash. i don't care about the inner world of the author and i believe joe's posts on balance have been contributing greatly to this forum.

so, can we go back to tsunami of usada cases ?

Obviously you read Joe's post - but you have missed his point, about people getting some perspective.

As for assumptions - thats exactly what you did with Joe's post. You assume the threats are from posters here? I didn't, why not just ask? And why would it matter?

Why didn't you appreciate the link I sent? I think it is a great piece, where a guy who has done wrong (&admitted it) is trying to put his life in order.
Whatever happened in his life - nothing warranted what has happened today.

Joe doped got (heavily) sanctioned, Joe was dealing, and is awaiting sentence. (IMO) Good, caught and sanctioned, I won't shed any tears.

It's not about 'caring' or pity - its about perspective.
