Some facts about the Men's events

2012 points collected for team pursuit, pre-olympics

1 (-) RUSSIA RUS 340
2 (-) SWITZERLAND SUI 260
3 (-) BELGIUM BEL 220
4 (-) CZECH REPUBLIC CZE 180
5 (-) GERMANY GER 140
6 (-) ITALY ITA 100
7 (-) NETHERLANDS NED 60
8 (1) BELARUS BLR 50
9 (-) POLAND POL 40

Hmmm... No Team GB in there. AT ALL. Throw that out then...

Let's check 2011.

1 (1) AUSTRALIA AUS 3,260
2 (2) RUSSIA RUS 2,960
3 (3) NEW ZEALAND NZL 2,500
4 (4) GREAT BRITAIN GBR 2,480

From a distant fourth in 2011, to World record in about 12 months. Yeah, that could happen without doping...

2012 points collected for team sprint, pre-olympics

1 (-) GERMANY GER 360
2 (-) FRANCE FRA 195
3 (-) POLAND POL 195
4 (-) GREAT BRITAIN GBR 157

Let's be fair and say they are in lightning strikes range of setting a WR sitting in fourth.

Let's go back to 2011 team sprint rankings.

1 (1) GERMANY GER 2,317.5
2 (2) RUSSIA RUS 2,002.5
3 (3) FRANCE FRA 1,860
4 (9) AUSTRALIA AUS 1,770
5 (4) VENEZUELA VEN 1,500
6 (8) NEW ZEALAND NZL 1,387.5
7 (5) NETHERLANDS NED 1,357.5
8 (10) JAPAN JPN 1,335
9 (10) CHINA CHN 1,305
10 (6) POLAND POL 1,269
11 (7) UNITED STATES USA 1,108.5
12 (12) GREAT BRITAIN GBR 1,002

Another incremental gains story from mid-field to world record in less than 12 months??

I could have the wrong data vs. medals though.

The germans must have paid off the officials then, no doubt about it

if you have been following track cycling for more than a few weeks you would know that whether you like it or not (i dont like it) the changeover on the team sprint has been a red hot issue with the commissaires for some time now

it is what it is, everyone saw the replay

Is this the one where GB got DQed?

I see that Germany benefited twice from DQs and where probably the 3rd strongest team

Clearly, the UCI supplied the dope for this result.;)

Popped over here because I just knew, as if by magic, there would be another Team GB slagging thread.
Just like night follows day.

I suppose they are just lucky that Gregory Bauge is French.

GB team sprint, about 1sec improvement since Worlds in April where they would have raced for bronze if they weren't relegated.

According to results over at the UCI, Women's track results are so far consistent with clean teams.

Team Sprint: Ukraine broke out a bit above their consistent results, but nothing phenomenal.

Team Pursuit: should be a gold medal final with Team GB in it and a win. Their dominance stretches back in time over multiple events.

Team GB has some strong contenders in a few Women's track events.

I agree that in 2012 they were in range for their time. Is there an explanation for the 2011 solid mid-field to 2012 contender? That's where I get suspicious. Please don't reply with incremental gains.
