Wow. You puncture, or crash, and you're out. X-treme Cycling. I like it.

there are probably allowances for mechanicals.
Could find out on this lap, im sure there will be a few weaker riders who get dropped on the climbs and maybe picked up by the leaders.

Only have 3 riders so they have to share with Serbia. I presume since the Serbian rider has gone down the road the cars with him.

What happens if a British rider has a puncture?

There must be some neutral service vehicles.

Teammates

Funny situation, the teammates (exept Roche/McCann) of the breakaway-riders ought to drop down to the breakaway and help all they can.

If Serpa, Ochoa, Grivko, Kostyuk, 5 marocans etc. dropped back it would make Rodriquez, Tamayo and Kvachuk difficult to catch, if they should not crack. At least Rodriquez could be a real threat that way

True, but no radios to organise it

I was going to say it doesn't matter since they would have taken the circuit just as easy at first, but those 5 or 6 extra climbs they won't be doing might have hurt.
(I'm only counting the big one)

Yeh that's it, and with the climbs some riders would have tried to bridge so the pace may have been a bit higher... The peloton didn't turn a pedal in anger for the first 50km.

You cant, lapped riders are not permitted to assist the lead riders, and by the same token, strangely, the lead riders are not permitted to assist lapped riders. Saying that, there was a a womens crit in the uk earlier this year were the leader finished 1 lap ahead of her teammate who came second and they road formation together for 10 laps.

Oh come drama queens, it might look exciting, it's really not.
Nothing will happen

Apart from that, I think the teams of the puncheurs should really start making this race hard soon... they can't wait too long after taking the slowest starts in years.

the rules arent vague.

Any individual rider, or group of riders numbering less than 20 have to withdraw from the race as they are lapped.

For groups larger than 20 its down oto the commisaires.

The peloton come to the start line still on the same lap as the leaders, but any riders dropped off the back and lapped will get illiminated.

The lead group are not allowed to mix in with the peloton. Its the pelotons job to make sure they dont mix up with the lead group.

It should be like a scratch race :p

Hopefully they'll have worked this out after the U23s and Women's races.

Are people actually getting excited about the early break of nobodies gaining a huge gap? This is practically a Worlds tradition at this point.

They're not chasing the breakways quick enough, only 50 seconds on the last lap. 20mins 42secs now

I suspect that the breakaway may actually implode on itself in the end and wont need chasing down as such.
