Belgian prosecuters have anounced that they have started a criminial investigation against Geert Leinders.

This is great news. Sports governing bodies refuse to take meaningful action against doping facilitators, so it is left up to state justice systems to react.

Doping is not just a question of cheating, it is also a matter of the health of the athletes. Not to mention the trafficing aspect.

So has something actually come out about him doping at Sky? I thought this was all related to Rabobank?

Its all Rabo at the moment but it sure doesn't look good for Sky does it?

Well until something concrete comes out about Sky I very much doubt it will be of any consequence to them in the long run.

Don't really understand your logic TBH. Surely at any trial there will be questions about Team Sky, and if he can save his own skin by pleading guilty/giving information etc I'm sure he will. Maybe some Sky riders will be forced to testify.

What did you not understand? I am not sure I can phrase it any simpler.

If we've learned anything the last few months it's that 99.9% of riders, doctors, DS's and the like only admit to what the authorities already know, and often not even to that. The biggest risk for Sky is that this could be a PR debacle for them, the chances of anything beyond that are slim to none.

I understood what you said obviously but I don't understand your thinking behind what you said.

Whichever way it plays out its not going to be good for Sky.
He denies - people will say a leopard doesn't change his spots, why would he dope one team and not another etc.
He admits - goes without saying this would be bad for them!

Given the goings on in cycling with riders testing positive and coming back to win GTs that a doctor is really going to make much of an impact? I very much doubt it unless there is actual proof.

Maybe its just me but I think that if any Team Sky rider gets caught/implicated there won't be any coming back.

Yes Doctors have very little impact in cycling.

Ferrari *cough* Fuentes *cough*

Nothing to see here. There's no proof.

When has a 'dodgy Dr' ever been involved with a team or riders and its all been totally innocent?

Wait, I thought we were talking about Sky being brought down, not about Sky being guilty or innocent?

Are you really that idiotic. Either you are deliberately taking my sentence out of context or you really are.

My opinion is really quite simple. Sky will not be brought down by Leinders unless something concrete comes out about him doping at his time there.

Good to see Dr. Evil takin' it easy, piano tranquillio with the Sky team.

Saddle sore patient is rubbing his eyes for some reason. Maybe he got some of that EPO avoidance-enzyme powder in his eyes?

I think I might be idiotic.

But not as idiotic as Sky for hiring Geert the dirt in the first place.

It's wishing thinking hoping nothing comes out in relation to his practices.

SR is right. When has a dodgy cycling Doctor cleaned up his act and started to work 'clean'?

I mean seriously, you think that's what happened here? With all those Rabo guys at Sky?
