I find it staggering that no journalist (British or otherwise) is not doing more digging or joining the dots regarding Leinders and Sky. The guy has just been banned from the sport for doping riders and all you get is a footnote at the bottom of articles saying 'he worked for Sky on freelance basis for two years, Brailsford says he was fine' Move along, nothing to see here.

The Daily Mail have done plenty of digging into Sky but have yet to find anything ''concrete''.

hoggy we heard this embroglio palava in 2002ish when JV had a closed eye from a wasp and he with Roger Legeay decided not to take cortisone to suppress the swelling <emoji for swollen eyes roll>

Yep, this whole Sky pulling riders and not issuing a TUE is pure poppycock. More so that Leinders was the one telling them to withdraw riders! Appears Sky took Walsh for a ride and he bought all of it.

I think they had a good time leading him on. The Nutella joke must have been hilarious.

They were all so proud when Armstring went down yet when Sky follow the usps model the are only interested in concrete proof like a failed test. There is enough in this thread for any half decent journalist to build a story.

You're right, fans with typewriters who are only interested in rewriting press releases and enjoying team hospitality.

The English speaking press are a joke.

Well as a journalist you do need concrete proof (be it witness statements or positive tests in order to make accusations). Are you familiar with UK libel laws?

Brailsford built a world class cycling team that has won 2 TdFs. Not too many done that. I believe he did it with doped riders, like the rest, but if it was that easy how come a guy like Lefevere has not won a TdF, neither has Marc Sargeant, Saronni, Madiot etc.....

Tesco area managers should get into cycling. It appears they are imminently qualified to win TdFs......

Brailsford has world class luck. His only results of note have come from Wiggins, who arguably arrived fully formed from the track, and spent his year in yellow undermining a team-mate, and Froome. St Christopher arrived with a transformation so unexpected to world class Dave he had to suddenly had to rapidly rustle up a franchise rider contract.

They had one dominant team GT performance, Wiggins' 2012 Tour. Brailsford blew the 2011 Vuelta for Froome, and scuppered both Uran and Henao in the 2013 Giro: both in service of Wiggins.

The sports genius fantasy is sustained by the British press which requires a narrative - especially during those long years between Olympics - and Clinic types desperate to keep their toxic dreams alive.

Really Wiggins was fully formed to win the Tour from the track? Really? You actually think that?

It's almost funny, even for the hard core Sky fans, the transformation of Wiggo, and especially Froome, must have been eye brow raising. (Unless they started to follow the sport in 2012)
To have that kind of transformations happen while hiring a doping doctor at the same time, well how else would anyone expect the transformation(s) to have happened other than by doping?

And it's not only about Sky (albeit their zero policy etc bs doesn't help, at all), if a rider on any team had that kind of transformation, I'd be very suspicious about them, too.

Wiggins had solid credentials, including at Garmin (ta), and that Dave didn't need to dig too deep into his grocery retail middle-management suitcase of tricks to build a team around him.

Are you suggesting that making Wiggo team leader was an inspired decision?

how do you know this? any links?

I certainly have no evidence there has been active digging. (but it wasn't my claim)

But join the dots:
Murdoch is pretty loathed by other media groups. (that may be an understatement)
He invests in a high profile team and gains a lot of publicity for various companies

If you were working for another media group and you heard about possible embarassing information, wouldn't you be doing some digging at least ?

UK libel laws do set a high barrier, but they could leak to say some friendly Italian media to get the information out there.

There really has been almost nothing. So either there is a super-gag order in place, or no-one really can find anything substantial.

Did any of those media groups do any digging into Leinders? Of course not.
Into Zorzoli, Oliver Cookson, Badzilla, Knaven, Froome's Monaco doctor, etc.?
Nah...
Yuo're forgetting that Sir Dave and Sir Bradley aren't merely Murdoch's success. They are mealtickets for plenty of brits, and propaganda for Britain as a whole.
I don't think any British newspaper is interested in throwing mud at Sky.

It's been open season on Murdoch since the phone hacking scandal broke. A top editor was banged-up and the flagship Sunday tabloid closed:
Former News of the World editor Andy Coulson has been jailed for 18 months for conspiracy to hack phones.

The 46-year-old, who rose to become director of communications for Prime Minister David Cameron, was found guilty at the Old Bailey last week.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28160626

Murdoch was humiliated in Parliament:
Rupert Murdoch has said his appearance before MPs to answer questions about phone hacking is the most humble day of his life.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14205909

Murdoch control over British media is yet another myth.

How about say the French media then ?

Embarrassing Sky and the British establishment as a win-win.

the TDF is their race and their culture...the show must go on

it is in nobody's interest to have a postive test or worse that positive test to be public (other than some cannon fodder) save for clean riders and the odd renegade journo or for anybody to expose anybody...

the show must go on....

if you dislike the clinic that much, then why are you here if not to troll.

This is typical of the Clinic. When you confront an argument that can't be addressed by one of the 100 or so tropes that pass for 'truth' here, you resort to scurrilous accusations of trollery. You have the maturity and logic skills of a child.

Nah, there will always be young up and coming journalists who want to make a name for themselves by exposing something, whether it be sports doping or political corruption, it is getting the evidence that is the difficulty

The beleif that there arent those journalists is a myth
