I just want to say, good on Bjarne Riis for going out on the training rides with his soldiers. Despite his past, he is a good DS and Saxo (or CSC) have always been a solid team unit which is a credit to his style of management.

(no point starting a thread for it, eh)

There are countless photos of Yates and Ekimov out training with the Discovery Channel/Astana teams during their training camps. Not sure if Erik Dekker rides with the Rabobank team during their camps. Bob Stapleton and Rolf Aldag usually ride the last 40km of a stage, especially a flat one and then use it to give information back to the car. That is why the split happened, because they knew the wind and what would happen.

In other news, Chris Anker Sørensen will ride with a Luxembourg licence in 2010. Luxembourg licence for Sørensen - cyclingnews.com. But he won't be able to race the national team though, right?

He is still a Danish citizen. It's just a license change. The UCI wants the riders to have their license where they live and he moved to Luxembourg.

Well that's the official version.

UCI never cared about this issue until a certain danish rider, who was thrown out of the tour de france wearing the yellow jersey, had served his suspension.

All of a sudden DCU (danish cycling federation) would deny this particular rider, when applying, although there seemed to be no problems for the remaining part of the danish riders, living in foreign countries.

This is speculation on my part, but to me it seems obvious that UCI and DCU were cooperating in order to keep this rider from coming back.

Whether you like it or not the system, which is supposed to treat all riders equal, has showen a very ugly side of itself in this case.

Now of course they enforce the rest of the danish riders to fix their licence, but thats just damage control.

This thread blows. Stuff, like Kessler crashing and being put into a coma, pass by with no comment. Meanwhile we get a new thread every time Armstrong get a pimple on his bum.

When did that happen? Should we put the fanboys on suicide watch?

David Cañada has announced his retirement from pro cycling after he could not find a new team. Cañada missed all of 2009 after getting treatment for skin cancer. Thankfully he is on the mend, but he could not find work. Considering he is 34 and his cancer background, LA should of signed him for Retirement Shack (and Cañada was no hack during his racing career either).

Cañada can also be remembered for being part of that crash in the 2006 TdF, where he broke his collarbone, Kessler went over the railing, and Rik Verbrugghe broke his leg and Fedrigo won the stage by 8 seconds.

Since their biggest face is about to be suspended, Unzué's a bit screwed.

Especially since sponsors are unlikely to want to be associated with a team that has its biggest name about to be suspended and its second most marketable face named in an ongoing investigation

There are reports from Germany that Ullrich is coming back! Not sure in what role thou. He mentions Armstrong in his update.

For real!? Well, he's a bit younger than Armstrong, so I guess stranger things have happened. Wonder if he has kept "fit" these years.

"Lance, Ich komme!" on his blog.

Laughing out loud, actually and literally! But how is his status, puerto-wise? He was never actually ever suspended,he just retired to avoid dealing with it, right? IF he returns, won't he be in a postiton something like valverde?

Well Ze Germans shut down the case with a payoff ala Kloden. Its case closed in Germany but I'm not sure on the UCI? Although these days Bin Laden would get a ride in the ProTour so don't see anything stopping him coming back. Alas for which team?

Columbia, of course.

He passes the age restrictions for both Radio Shack and Rock Racing.
My guess is the latter.
Talking of which, I see, after a year off the back of the peloton with Ouch, Flandis is once again flying.

Landis, Ulrich, Armstrong, Vinokourov, Basso..when is Mayo coming back?
