Last year, your Chinese source told you that Champion System would get a wildcard for the Giro. He isn't exactly off to a great start, huh?

El Pistolero said:2016 WC awarded to Qatar... Seriously... Crit race around Doha. They're really ruining the prestige of the WC.
Another World title for the best one day racer of his generation.![]()
Waterloo Sunrise said:Any word on course - hope they don't ruin it trying to add some gradients.
the asian said:Also, I talked about it in another thread, but UCI seems to have abandoned it's principle of having the World's outside of Europe only once in every five years.
Libertine Seguros said:How depressing is it that the best we can possibly hope for from a World Championships parcours is a ride up and down a corniche, because that maximises the exposure to crosswinds?
How many fans will there be too? When's the next climber's Worlds then, huh? I don't mean like Mendrisio, that was for the climbers the way Geelong was for the sprinters. I mean like Duitama. You know, if we're balancing out WC parcours, there should be a Worlds that just goes up and down different routes up Monte Grappa.

Dunno about Richmond, Virginia 2015 though.
The Hitch said:apparently Ponferrada needs to find money in 30 days so looks like that might not be so hilly afterall.
And looks likely uk will go for 2017, as they have announced their intention to go for worlds, and 2017 is the year they hold iaf wc as well so could be a second summer of sport to "test the legacy".
I think that would be a hilly but not superchallenging course.
Panda Claws said:Belgium will also go for 2017, if I recall correctly.

Probably the last time before they decided to forbid it?Bushman said:Hey, when was the last time the wc had cobbles in it?

the asian said:Yr, I heard about Ponferrada but their mayor has told that they will honour the commitment, and if it stays as the host I don't think they will make the parcours easier.
On UK, I hope it's not London.
