Last year, your Chinese source told you that Champion System would get a wildcard for the Giro. He isn't exactly off to a great start, huh?

My mate spoke directly to Champyon System by the chinese twitter and that was what he was told; it wouldnt surprise me if the guy taking care of the account didnt know exactly what was going on (they had received documents for a pre-selection, not wildcard).
A rumor is a rumor, but thanks for bringing that up. ;)

2016 WC awarded to Qatar... Seriously... Crit race around Doha. They're really ruining the prestige of the WC.

Another World title for the best one day racer of his generation.

Money talks, what to do:mad:

At least if they wanted a one in the Middle East, they could have selected Oman, which would have offered a much better parcours, possibly designed by Merckx.

The only possibility is echelons forming, thereby creating a split in the peloton.

It's also held too late for Boonen, he loves Qatar:D, Maybe Vanmarcke will win and you will sing it's praises

Also, I talked about it in another thread, but UCI seems to have abandoned it's principle of having the World's outside of Europe only once in every five years.

How depressing is it that the best we can possibly hope for from a World Championships parcours is a ride up and down a corniche, because that maximises the exposure to crosswinds?

How many fans will there be too? When's the next climber's Worlds then, huh? I don't mean like Mendrisio, that was for the climbers the way Geelong was for the sprinters. I mean like Duitama. You know, if we're balancing out WC parcours, there should be a Worlds that just goes up and down different routes up Monte Grappa.

You can do a Worlds' 2016 parcours in the stage design thread.

2013 and 2014 will be quite hilly.

Dunno about Richmond, Virginia 2015 though.

apparently Ponferrada needs to find money in 30 days so looks like that might not be so hilly afterall.

And looks likely uk will go for 2017, as they have announced their intention to go for worlds, and 2017 is the year they hold iaf wc as well so could be a second summer of sport to "test the legacy".

I think that would be a hilly but not superchallenging course.

Yr, I heard about Ponferrada but their mayor has told that they will honour the commitment, and if it stays as the host I don't think they will make the parcours easier.

On UK, I hope it's not London.

Belgium will also go for 2017, if I recall correctly.

Belgium is due one, but I don't think it will stand a chance against UK, especially under the current UCI management.

The vendee region was also hoping to bid for a WC and i read that Norway submitted a failed bid for the 2016 edition, so they might also return.

Belgium will go for the WC as well then.

Time trial in Flanders and Road Race in Wallonia(around Namur).

How about looping around Alto de Arrate? That should do the trick :)

Arrate is a dead-end. You COULD, however, do the steep part, and then turn left to go over Ixua, down to Etxebarria, and then over the climb adjacent to Arrate to return to Eibar. This would keep most of what's good about Arrate without going all the way to the summit (which is actually called Usartza).

Belgium will go for 2017, 2018 and 2019.
With the TT in Flanders, the road race in Namur.

They will get one of the three, I assume.

Mattia Gavazzi

Mattia Gavazzi is free to race from end of this September, after being banned from April 2010... He´ll be back with Savio´s Androni, but only for 2013, or from now on?

Just curious...
